LOG 27 - Calling Dayton, Cincy, Columbus, ...

Anyone going to LOG from the southern Ohio, northern Kentucky area? I'd like to use the transport service, but they need a minimum of 7 cars at one p/u point. ( http://www.log27.com/transport.asp ). Register here if you're interested...too far to drive for me.

Dave, I'm up in Cleveland but would be willing to meet anywhere in Ohio as a pick up point as I need to work up until flying out to Colorado. I called the company listed in the LOG website though and they had no idea what I was talking about. They said they only transport from Florida to Colorado and do not pick up anywhere else in the country.
When I told them about the LOG deal they had no idea what I was talking abbut. In fact I made them go to the website while we were on the phone together and they still had no clue. The lady I spoke to was Mary and she indicated she was the dispather and part owner of the company. This unfortunately does not fill me with a lot of confidence. If anyone on Elisetalk is part of the planning commitee for the LOG, maybe they could comment on why the company which they indicated they had a deal with to transport our cars seems to have no clue about any deal?

I'm getting nowhere with them either...they're clueless about LOG. No way I'm up to a 48 hr round trip driving. Bummer.

Do you know how we can talk to on the planning committee for LOG to get them to look into/resolve this situation? I would really like to go and have already paid registration and booked a hotel, but if I can't bring my car a may back out.

Transport

I am more the coordinator on this part. I can say arrangements would need to made this week at the latest.

It is simply a matter of a group of people coordinating a minimum of seven cars at one pick up point. You may hear 7 or 8 cars....it depends on what size they are really. Seven is a full truck minimum to them. The guys, say in New Jersey, need to get together and pick a spot that an 18 wheeler can get to, call ECT and send their checks. That's it. We can answer questions but it is all spelled out on the website. They know what to do at the transport company if they get a pick up point and money. The contacts there at ECT are Jan or Tom.

I think some confusion is they are not forming the groups or tracking who is calling from where, they only need to know the spot to pick up 7 - 8 cars. So each group needs to sort that out themselves.

There is a drop off site west of Denver (Arvada, CO) where all cars will be dropped off and is secure...also the home of the McClaren collection. he is about 30 minutes west of he airport on the way to Snowmass, about a 2 1/2 hour drive west from there.

Hope that helps!
