LOG 27 stay the night then Caravan

Is there anyone East of Missouri that is Driving to Aspen, CO for LOG 27?

If so, we have plenty of room at the B&B for fellow ETers to bunk for the night before heading out to CO. I plan on leaving for Aspen on Thursday Morning since it is 17 hours from our home then I can arrive on Friday morning with no pressure.

We even have the new five car carriage house that I built last fall (the reason I missed LOG 26) that sleeps four people.

We live in Columbia Missouri (Center of the state, along highway 70); Lemme know if anyone might be interested in a free nights stay Wednesday evening we have a total of eight Kings and queen beds, private showers and such
I am thinking it might be a great mid-point for those driving from the East Coast and closer.

We can burn something on the grill for dinner, cover the yard with Lotus, swap stories, lie to each other, drink a beer or two then head out early on Thursday.

Regards, Robert

Are you planning to drive or tow your Lotus to the LOG event? I live in STL, May want to caravan along with you. I won't be taking my Lotus as we plan a western vacation and LOG is only the first stop along the way. We will be driving my wifes CTSV Caddy, a good road car for the trip. Regards, Ron

Hi Ron, I plan on driving my elise, I am usually good for about eight hours at a time in it with no trouble. Unless someone has a nine car transporter for us, I think driving is my preferred method to get there. Or maybe someone knows if we could borrow Airforce one for a week.

If you want to see our house, it is located at taylor-house.com

I'm interested and thanks for the offer. 17 hours is a bit long in the Elise but I've done 20 returning from LOG 26 in Dallas. I probably will drive one of the Elises but I'd really like to take the Europa as Emmo is supposed to be present and maybe I could get him to sign my car (JPS). I think the old Hummer is a bit old and slow to pull the trailer all the way to Vail, however. If the wife talks me into buying a new truck, I might just go for it though...Dave

Even if you stop again for the night that still puts us in Aspen on Friday. I really like to drive and it just makes the trip more fun to go as a small group. I have plenty of off street parking for any lotus, truck&trailer too. It will just be a good time.

Wow, according to Google, you are within 3 minutes of the halfway point from my house to Aspen! I really want to go, but I am still torn on whether to drive the Lotus or tow it. My wife does not want to drive the car that far though, so if I can figure out a rental/borrow source for a covered trailer that my truck can handle I will probably tow it. Please put me down as a tentative.

Thanks!

Try an Aluminum trailer, I know there are open trailers readily available. The covered variety will be more difficult to find. I have you down for one room, lancer360.

I have a yes from exarkun1178, so that is three so far.

I have a three more rooms in the main house, then room for two more couples in the carriage house.

Looks like we have three fellow ET'ers committed. We have room for three more couples in the main house, a group of two in the carriage house. And the rest that are interested will be on the sofas. Anymore takers for my original post? I know it seems early, but LOG 27 will be here before you know it.

Robert, do you know what time you would want to leave Thursday morning? I will be caravaning with exarkun1178. When would it be ideal for us to get to your place to have a good time and still get enough rest?

I still plan on going to LOG, but we are going up early to visit my sister-in-law in Lincoln, Nebraska so I will not be able to stay at your place or caravan. Thanks for the generous offer. See you at LOG!

I was thinking of leaving early in the morning Thursday, I am flexible, could be as early as 5am as late as 8am. If you wanted a relaxing time we could over night along the way or if you were ambitious we would leave early and arrive about 11pm. My personal goal is to roll into Aspen by 10 to 11am Friday Morning. Lemme know you thoughts and ideas.

I am sure we will cross paths at some point at LOG. Sorry to hear you cannot make on the way in. Are you interested in a return trip layover? exarkun1178 is staying with us on the return trip and will be at our place on the evening of the 28th, a Tuesday evening.

Win, I failed to answer your last query in your post. I would suggest coming into columbia, maybe, 3 to 5pm. Does that sound like a good idea for good food, rest, and an early start.
