JOIN THE GOLDEN GATE LOTUS CLUB

Looks like you'll need to mail in the form the first time. After that you can renew on-line.

DATE CHANGED

We're going with Plan B. Race #2 will be 2/22 (Sunday), with #3, March 7th (saturday). Be sure to give LeMans a call, if your plan on attending. I'll get the word out on the GGLC email list and website, sorry about the short notice. Hope we don't have anyone showing up tomorrow, expecting to run.

I too was planning for tomorrow. I'm in for the 22nd, but can't make the 7/8th. I'll be sure to call next time.

Cheers,
Kiyoshi

P.S. I'm going to bring a can opener to pry RNR off the inside!

Series Completed

Well we only had two sign up for this weekend. With the autocross season starting up next month, don't have the time to try moving this out again. So we're done. This has become a one race series. I'll contact the top 5 winners from the first race about their prizes. RNR, I did pick up a trophy, that I'll be getting to you.

Thumbs up The eight of us had a blast today

Apparently people signed up late or there was some mis-communication somewhere.
Most folks simply showed up (and brought friends) without reading this message board (thankfully) and we had a quorum.
I almost gave up on this but at the last minute got a call from Ivan who was already there (along with other people) and I rushed out. And I'm glad I did.
For $50 each we had entire track for the 8 of us for two practice sessions, qualifying and a sprint race.

Let's just all phone in and register for next 3/7 date. I don't care if it's 3-race series or not but it's just plain fun. If every one sits on the fence nothing happens.

First of all, big thanks to everyone who organized the fun and got this going. We had a great time for the first event. Even though there were only 8 of us, we had a great time.

I am just a guilty as everyone else for the Feb 9 session. I invited someone to come along, waiting for him to let me know he could make it. I should have just called and made a reservation for myself. By the time he got around to letting me know he got the ol' kitchen pass, I found out the day was canceled.

I called last Wednesday night and reserved a spot. I never heard it was canceled. So, I rolled down from Benicia to come play.

I really appreciate Rick's generosity to let us come and play. I hope we can show some courtesy by calling ahead. Open track time on a weekend is a very precious commodity these days.

Now, I just need to lose some more pounds so my cart is as quick as Ken, Alexander, and Ivan!

Best regards,
Dan Wise

OK. We've got a decent amount of interest for the karting (even if they don't sign up in advance) . LeMans seems to be fine with the smaller group size. So we'll do the March 7th one as a official GGLC event and score the best 2 of 3 finals races for the series champs. We'll give out the GGLC track day to a club member in a random drawing the day of.

Larry, you rock!
Thanks to you, SVAG and Lemans Karting for offering this opportunity

Call in and reserve your spot now!

All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one's favor all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamed would have come his way. Whatever you can do, or dream you can do, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it. Begin it now."

Here are the points standing after the first two races. No one made both so it's still wide opening going into the final race.

place/name /points

1 rnr -10
ivan bankov

2 BEANER -8
Soigne

3 Jay G -6
Alexander

4 RED -5
SloDog

5 Willis -4
kenl

6 Andrei Filimon -3
MaskMan

7 Knucklehead -2
Rhodes

8 ace -1
Maria

The last race of the series is coming up in a little over a week. Give LeMans a call if you can make it. And don't forget the top 5 spot will be getting some nice prizes... even have a trophy for first place. Even if your not in the running, we will have a drawing to hand out a GGLC track day to a club member.
