IamBatman- They might be able to fit you in for the inspection.

For everyone else, that is to say, unless they already have your name, they would not have time (unless there are a few no-shows).

So, logistically, how will this work? The drive will take place after everyone's inspection is done? Going to be a long day for the early arrivals.

It's even a longer day for the SVAG crew, who will be coming in on one of there days off and providing a free service.

The cut off is 1 pm. They typically have 3 guys doing the inspection. So, if 12-13 Lotus on the list, show up at noon wanting one, they will not get checked out in a hour.

The drive will be heading out a little after 1.

No criticism intended, I appreciate the service SVAG is offering, I was just trying to anticipate how it would all play out. I'm probably over-analyzing.

That was a nice day. Thanks to the gang at Silicon Valley Auto Group- Andrew (Service Manager), Jordan (Lotus Service Advisior), Rich (Parts Manager) and the rest of the crew, for hosting us and getting our cars checked out.

Lots of familiar faces and several new owners made it. Think we had 14 or so on the drive and lunch at Alice’s. Great spring weather… even if I never got around to taking the soft top off to really enjoy it.

Here are a few pics ( more at SVAG_041109 - a set on Flickr )

Glad I was able to make it out for the drive.
Thanks for organizing the route and lunch LarryB. As always, you did a great job.
Hope to see you all soon for another run through the mountains.

Likewise, thank you LarryB for all the effort! I think we all had a good time, got our cars checked out and had a great drive up Skyline. Now if I can just get all of the wood lacquer off my clothes!

As nerdy as it sounds, maybe next time we should wear name tags initially. Putting names to faces is pretty difficult.

And ohh...that Koenigsegg CCXR... :shim:

Cool

As one of the newb's on the trip it was a fantastic day. Just over 300miles round trip but that drive along Skyline was worth it . Great to meet some of the LT gang in person. Thanks Larry and the SVAG team.

Here's a link to the pictures I took with my cell phone.

thanks to SVAG as well

My car got the inspection and I was generally impressed with the effort. They checked all the fluid levels, including the gear box. I chuckled as it squirted out when he removed the plug, must have been filled with a compressor! They checked the torque, especially the toe link. The brake pad and rotor wear was measured as was tire wear. I need to bleed my brake fluid!

Most fun was the dump of my 2008 ECU as it is different from previous models. The dump was in pdf format. Total running time for my engine was almost 229 hours, and roughly 8900 miles. A quick calculation yields an average speed of almost 39mph over the one year of ownership!

Thanks to Andrew, Jordan, Ken, and Terry from service and to Rich from parts. It was nice to see old friends... Special thanks because SVAG is willing to do something like this even during hard times.

Michael

Unfortunately our camera died right at the beginning of the drive. So no good pics of all the Skittles BUT we did get a few interesting pictures of the Vector out back. Never heard of this car before, apparently built on a Diablo chassis? Anyway we were having a good laugh over the lower window (the only one that opens) and your only drive through food option, pizza.

To echo the above posts - much thanks to everyone involved in the inspection and drive.
