I forget that I am a real vendor of this site. We are also supporting some other car sites out there and expanding.

I will use this thread to tell you about the cool things we are doing or have been doing and about some new products as they get developed. Unless I spend all my time uploading pics to the PIC OF THE DAY thread, in which case there will be no new products.

First off, you may notice a new banner. This is a simpler more elegant banner done by our own knucklehead on this forum. Carbon Fiber background. Logo. You get the idea.

As some of you know, ChaseCam has been working with Jay Leno and Leno's Garage and Big Dog Racing. This also includes a crew from NBC.

We supply the garage with the video equipment for all their web site videos. If you go to his site-

Click on videos and the latest one is the Corvette and you can see our stuff being used for on car video. We are also supplying video for the racing cars. We put 5 video recorders on the 1955 Jaguar that was driven by Bernard, the garage manager. We also put two systems on the race cars from Big Dog Garage.

For the 2008 season, ChaseCam was required equipment on all SPEED World Challenge Racing cars. This was required by SCCA Pro Racing.

We get a lot of support from many of the teams. Here we are on the Team Remington Cadillacs, note the cool sticker on their transporter.

For those fans of Australian racing, we have been required on all V8Utes since 2007 and all V8SuperCars since beginning of 2008. In fact the ChaseCam video systems on the V8Supercars are what are used by Australian Broadcast (Channel 7) to put on their televised races.

We are also involved with the A1GP series there.

Release Date: 21/01/2008 New initiatives designed improve the judicial process, vehicle recoveries and enable spectators to better identify individual cars are amongst the improvements to the 2008 V8 Supercar Championship Series.

The V8 Supercar Championship Series begins in Adelaide next month with the Series being officially launched in Melbourne on February 6. Two compulsory team test days will be held in Victoria and Queensland on the 12th and 14th of February followed by the Clipsal 500 from February 21-24.

V8 Supercars Australia will introduce “Chase Cam” into every car in the Series as the in-car camera used by the judiciary to review incidents and also for broadcast quality pictures that can be used for television when required.

These are in addition to the Seven in-car cameras already utilised for the telecast.

The Chase Cam replaces the former in-car cameras that were older technology and more difficult to extract data from. The Chase Cam technology allows a hard disk to simply be removed from the unit and re-inserted into a television or computer for instant replays.

The digital recorders write directly to Compact Flash for easy drag-and-drop computer transfer in Mpeg-2 format. Extremely rugged, it is currently being used by many top racing teams and several television programs. The video processor allows for simple picture-in-picture or split screen video.

Where to start? We have been more active in the UK than anywhere.

We are a line item option on Westfields.

ChaseCam is involved with the magazine Octane and also EVO. Octane had two systems at Goodwood Revival and you will be seeing that video online. We also were on a couple of the planes, Mustang and Spitfire at Goodwood. Should be interesting.

We are also working with some UK based Formula 1 teams. More on that soon.

We will be attending Autosport in Birmingham in January.

One cool thing about this business, is the access to things. Like having the driver's bus at Champ Racing to ride in, Sitting next to Piquet. Access to the pits and paddocks at IMSA or ALMS or Champ. Touring and touching Formula 1 teams/factories. Climbing on and into Thunderboats. The list goes on and on...

The coolest feature... we developed to solve a problem... is this auto on and auto record thing. Man, the more I use it (and customers tell me the same thing) the more cool I think it is.

We put the recorder in the car. Wire it up to accessory 12V.

When I turn on the car, the recorder also turns on. When I launch the car, it starts recording. When I stop applying sufficient GForce, it pauses. When I turn off the car, it saves the video file and shuts down. After a weekend, I never have touched anything, no buttons. I just pull out the CF card and I have all the video files.

The GForce trigger is programmable. The delay is programmable. We did this for SCCA Pro Racing so that the teams would not have to push any buttons. And it works... each race weekend, all teams get the oncar videos every time without anyone touching anything.

Now when I watch someone fiddling with camera stuff, I chuckle. I would rather think about driving.

Yes, I've seen that feature on your site... so what package would you recommend for the Elise/Exige (with a harness bar) if I'd like to get something similar to Fred's FrankenLotus videos (i.e g-force overlay)?
