Garage wash hose reel ideas...

I was reading the "supplies needed for washing your Elise" thread and figured I'd start a new one on this topic. Can't remember if we've discussed this specific issue or not.

I'd been meaning to get one of these for some time, and finally plunked down the dough and got one. At ~$140 it's a bit pricey for 65' of garden hose, but it really works well. Unlike the units you can get at Home Depot/Lowe's, the reel I bought is powered by a heavy-duty spiral spring - not water pressure. In short, the Retracta brand is built like a tank.

Of course, a few weeks after I bought my fancy-schmancy (overpriced?) one, Harbor freight has a cheaper version. I assume it's not as durable as the Retracta, and I'm assuming that it's spring-powered, but it is cheaper.

It's just nice to be able to give a little tug on the hose and have it roll back up by itself after washing the car. Just passing this info along to those who were considering such an item. I'll try to get a picture of the one I bought to give you guys a better idea of the size/mounting hardware.

Here's a couple of pics. Let the nozzle be a reference for the size of this sucker. Since it folds against the wall (kinda), it actually does take up less space in the garage than a 65' pile of hose.
