How high is high enough?
I want to install a four post lift my two car garage. I plan to stack cars for storage. The garage ceiling is about 9'6" now; that seems like it would be tight, so I am planning to raise the ceiling 3' for a 12'6" finished height. Is that a reasonable height for the purpose of service & storage or should I try and go higher?

garage height
I have 10 foot sidewalls and scissor trusses for a height of 12'6" above my four post hoist. It allows me to raise a Hummer H1 to full service height for exhaust and brake work. I also have ceiling fans and they clear the Hummer when on the hoist. Any two normal size vehicles will store with that clearance...Dave
