...those dollies look wonderfully handy...as for doorstops, we use little eyehooks to hold doors open, a trick i learned growing up in the mountains of puerto rico...

Yes, that sounds like a good idea. Some of the cars pics came out a bit blurry and I suppose Lters don't get tired of looking at pictures of cars. It'll take a while, there's a lot of cars to cover. I'll probably be able to do the first one by the end of the weekend. Then I start a run of work days. Then the PALS event. But I'll get it done. Keep an eye out.

Yes I am, but I do have both phone and cable hook ups. The phone is currently working. It is the house number. The cable hook up is operative, but I have not yet decided what size TV to put in, and it is low priority compared to more functional garage equipmant (and more cars, of course). The cable jack is behind the cabinet between the utility sink and the Six. I think the art hanging system is strong enough to hold a flat screen.

I like to keep the Six oxidized because it is a pain to keep polished.

The X180R needs fuel injectors (thats why it's in the service area) and a lot more work before it is ready for the track again.

I must admit the Chapman Barn does just have the edge, with 25 F1 Lotuses. But then they have had a head start...............

Nice job Sir

Best wishes from Norfolk

Richard
I am very aware of the other Lotus facilities you mention. All are first class facilities. And all are completely different than mine. I thinkKoski's is pictured in one of the other garage threads.

As for the Chapman Barn - aka Ketteringham Hall, I'm afraid I'll never get to that level. Not that I haven't fantsized about it. I'd very much like like to get or at leas drive a Lotus F1. Any Lotus F1. But there is a saying in racing. How fast do you want to go? How much money do you have? Sadly, I'm already going faster than I can afford to.

You are welcome to my place any time Richard. Perhaps before or after LOG 30. There are a bunch of Brits tentatively planning on coming next year. Brits hit the east coast I was considering doing a proLOG event to welcome them.

The doors don't open far enough to the wall to use the eyehook technique, but good suggestion.

Ok, I'm officially jealous! Not even of the cars but all the space. I'm crammed into tiny California garage but long for a space like that were I could leave a project incomplete to return to it later. Very nice

That is inspiring. I'm already looking at a spot on the back of my lot and thinking I could throw up something like that with relative ease... (Compared to say, custom building my house.)

The four post lifts do not need to be bolted to the floor, they are stable as is. THe two point lifts need to be bolted because if they aren't they are unstable. The four post lift (at least the one that i got) actually vomes with dollies that, if you put them on then lower the ramps all the way lift the structure off the floor so it can be moved. We built the lift in the front of the Barn, then used the dollies to move it to the back.

Kyle, thanks for taking the time and effort to post these photos and the description of your "barn." You have a very diverse and interesting Lotus collection. I hope this will inspire me to build a garage/workshop for my Elise.

Not in earthquake country

I have one very securely bolted to the slab, fortunately, otherwise my Elan (parked on it) would never have survived our local "big one" in '89.

Great collection, BTW!
