Goin 2 fast that is a sticker. Put that on in Chicago, during my NY to LA trip. From NY to pA everyone kept asking where I was going, thus got the sticker made

Carnut-gorgeous. Mine is a Australian car. Fully built mini mania motor, over drive gear. Roll bar, full adjustable suspension.

We should start a thread about Elise owners who own a mini and to put pictures next to them

Perhaps you could try driving straight at the empty garage with the door open. At the last moment, whip the wheel to the left and pull the e-brake. Might take some practice but I have faith in you.

Seriously Carnut - your Mini is super clean. Nice work!
Loanshark - I had no idea there would be other elise/classic mini owners on this forum!

Sorry others for the tangent on this garage thread...

I love to see the original Mini, used to see a lot a Crystal Cove. I'm from England so I've driven a few in my time, my brother-in-law used to restore Coopers and I know that your Cooper is really zippy. It's beautiful. I really miss those cars think I'll buy one, one day.

okay, last night i cleaned out my garage and rearranged the cars and YES!!! i managed to get 3 cars in my 2-car garage. it's a bit tight, though, but i'm glad i was able to pull it off:

miata in the far right corner of the garage, parked with butt against the wall and left side against the wall. exige parked perpendicular to the miata on right side of the garage. about 2 feet clearance in the rear of exige and about 2 feet clearance in the front. E46 parked diagonally on the left side of garage. i moved my wheel/tires around (didn't put them in basement-- kept them in garage), so now the miata is "boxed in" but that's fine, it's hardly driven anyway...

start here, move crap out of garage:

park miata like so:

then park exige like so:

hmmm, will the bmw fit in this remaining spot?

no, the tires are in the way... can't pull forward enough to clear the back of the car from the garage door...

...so if i move the tires against the far wall like this, i think the car can pull up enough to clear the back:

yep!! it worked!

let's make sure my celica can fit too! yep, no problems... i also put the rest of my tires in the middle "triangle" area. the miata is definitely boxed in now...

This is how I get four small cars in a 2-car garage. There's not a good angle to get quite everything in the picture and the wife's MINI and the truck stay outside. The positions in the garage change and any of the four might be up on the lift at any time. As long as at least one Classic Mini is under the lift, the cars can be arranged in any order.

I soooo want your garage, and your lift, and your classic Minis....Now if only our garage could look that clean! Maybe it's the lens but your garage ceiling looks really high to fit a lift that big.

Yes, fortunately my garage has a high ceiling due to the fact that the first floor of the house sits about 4' above ground level. It has an "English basement" (how appropriate is that?) which sits about 1/2 below ground level and 1/2 above, providing for small windows in the basement. The pic was taken at the top of the steps leading into the house and using a very wide angle lens. The garage ceiling is about 10' by the door and almost 14' at the front. I never would have bought the Elise if I couldn't fit a lift in the garage. None of my toys are going to sit outside.
