sharing the weekend with other car clubs, plus having a baby sitter with me during the track day is naff enough for me to reconsider.

It cant be sharing with too many can it. We should be hitting enough numbers to fill the track.

The track day regsitration for LOG has a "Mercedes Club of North America" logo on it as well. Looks like a joint track event.

Just got back from a LOG meeting tonight at the Barber museum. Wow. I mean wow! It will be worth the trip for the museum alone. Insane. Some more really awesome Lotus cars are currently under restoration there too. If I can I'm going to go a day early just so I spend a good amount of time in the museum and really soak it in at my own pace.

And I got to drive an Esprit. What a fun night.

I don't think you guys can comprehend how awesome this event is going to be. On top of being able to purchase fine scotch to drink with me, you will also actually be able to drive the Barber track on an awesome simulator- in a Lotus- before you actually drive the Barber track in your Lotus. Is that cool or what?

The simulator will be available all weekend at the hotel for those who want to try out the track before actually driving on it. It will also be used to demonstrate 'the line' around Barber Sunday evening at the mandatory driver's meeting. How cool is that?

Scotch

Did you ever tasted any of the

Single Barrel Jack Daniels bottled for Lotus Ltd???

That is good stuff. Unfortunately I am down to my last bottle. It is amazing what specialty items you can pick up at a LOG. There are always surprises.

Dean:

Jack Daniels - Compliments of LOG 25!!

You'll be about 3 hours from the Jack Daniels distillery in Lynchburgh, TN while in Birmingham, the detour to JD is worth the drive and YES you can buy product at the distillery AND see the Lotus Ltd. badge on the barrel list.

LOG 29 Attendance

Over 100 rooms have already been booked at the LOG hotel (Wynfrey). MickOpalak (LOG29 Co-chairman) and company seem to be putting together a very nice event.

Details are on the LOG 29 www.LOG29

Maybe I missed it but are there going to be photo ops at Talladega, ie, is there a pro shooting the cars on the track, individually?
Thanks

Assuming you're already a Lotus Limited member, the cost for everything (5 days of Lotus insanity) would be approximately $635.

That price includes:
  • LOG 29 attendance fee
  • Mercedes Benz Museum Tour
  • Go-kart racing
  • Thursday's Road&Track reception featuring Peter Egan with snacks
  • Talladega Super Speedway high speed laps, Museum Tour and lunch
  • Friday evening reception with Lotus Cars USA presentation (what could it be??? I bet it rhymes with Schmevora)
  • Saturday's concourse, including lunch and two tickets to a weekend of vintage racing at the Barber Motorsports Park
  • Barber Museum Lotus Collection Guided Tour
  • Scenic Drives
  • Saturday evening banquet (beef, chicken or veggie choices) with presentations from Lotus and three veteran Lotus racing drivers
  • A massive autocross
  • Sunday evening banquet
  • Car control clinic
  • Monday's track day at the incredible Barber Motorsports Park including breakfast and lunch
Extras would be your lodging and any LOG 29 apparel, posters, books, videos, models, vendor goodies and other great Lotus swag that you'll be tempted to purchase.
Is this confirmed? I spoke to someone at their Duluth headquarters last week and they stated that as much as they'd love to have the car there, and they're trying hard to make it happen, unfortunately it looks like Evora will not be there
