Recent Barber Museum Acquisitions

Recently the Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum bought a Lotus 16 and 63 from an Australian collection.

Their collection of Lotus has grown substantially since my last visit in 2004. It was pretty interesting back then. It will be better this time around.

I received the latest issue of Lotus reMarque today. It contains the LOG forms and some good write ups about the various events.

Hope to see you there.

Just met Blake Repass from the Barber Museum yesterday at the Carlisle Import Show in PA. He drove his Miata up from Alabama. He tried to meet and talk to every Lotus owner at the show. Very nice guy. He's looking forward to us being at the museum and track for LOG29.

Sorry folks, but the kart racing on Thursday has been cancelled. Seems the owner waited until last week to go out of business. The place is locked up and the karts have been sold.

We're working on alternatives.

Bummer. Well I guess some old fashion sightseeing will have to do.

A mechanic who does race prep and I will be getting together tomorrow to go over the Seven to check its track worthiness. Besides the never ending job of polishing aluminum we have to change the brake fluid and lube the front suspension.

The driving events at LOG will be a blast. I am especially looking forward to the car control clinic.

Unhappy Log29 delima

OK here it is. I paid for Jen and I to go to Log29. Now our dog Gyro is scheduled to have his leg amputated the Wednesday I leave for log. Jen had told me it is up to me to decide as she know how much I have been looking forward to log. She will not be able to attend as she will stay home with the dog. Man I wish I did not have to make this decision.

Any advice? The decision is mine and I am stressing

Awwwwwww, sorry Dana....I know if it were me, I'd figure there will always be more LOGs.....I would stay with my pet. I know there's no way I could leave my cats at a time like that.

Unfortunately that is going to be a really personal decision.

If it was me... and it is not!... I would still go to LOG. Be thankful that Jen is understanding.

You are not scheduled to perform the surgery yourself are you? The dog won't hold a grudge against you. You can give the long travel award guys dog a pat on the head to hold you over till you get back, and maybe call in and put the phone to his ear.

See ya there!

(on a side note one of the coolest dogs I ever met was my friends neighbors 3 legged pit bull. The side with the leg looked like she was a dog body builder.)

If my wife was truly o.k. with it, I would go to LOG.

Dana,

I hope your dog has a speedy recovery and that also you can make it to LOG.

Folks,

If you're on the fence about joining us, go for it! We're already over 240 registrants with room for lots more. Walk up registrations aren't a problem. Join all of the other Lotus nuts in the country in Birmingham next week!

That's a tough call Dana, but at least Jen left it up to you- Relationships are give and take- I encourage my wife to do her own thing for just this reason- She takes care of our three little boys, but manages to take art classes a few times a month while I "take care of" the boys (wrestle, watch cartoons, eat junk food)- It's not an issue when I manage to attend a DE, or when a LOG weekend rolls around-

You'll definitely need to bring back something really nice, and probably take her out to dinner before and/or after LOG-

Just my .02

It is not too late to attend LOG

LOG has walk-in registration!

If you have not yet sent in your registration I would advise you to hang on to your forms and use the walk-in registration option. Please help your fellow Lotus enthusiasts who volunteer their time at the registration tables by having your paperwork filled out in advance.
