LotusTalk get together at LOG29

We all finally have an opportunity to meet each other face-to-face! At Friday night's reception, at 8:45 in the ballroom we'll have all of the LotusTalk people get together. I look forward to meeting everyone!

Mick,

My wife and I plan to go on the scenic drive Friday morning, and I've signed us up for the "Speedway Experience" ("Laps" per registration form)- I'm not excatly sure what this is- Please advise, and should we dress appropriately?

Thanks!

We'll arrive at the Talladega Superspeedway and in groups take laps of the oval. They will be paced but will definitely see highway speeds. You have to just to maintain the 30 degree banking without falling off. While other groups are lapping there will be the Talladega Motorsports Hall of Fame to tour and lunch at the speedway. No special dress or helmets required.

I will be driving in on Friday morning. Can I go straight to the speedway or do I need to register at the hotel first in order to get my credentials/passes/tickets?

Looking forward to meeting every one and seeing quite a few familiar faces as well. Turns out I'm going to have a vendor table so please come by and buy a shirt and some decals so I can eat next month. Been working quite furiously and did an all nighter last night. I'll try to remember to throw some color charts in the car in case you were thinking of stripes and want to see what's available. (and just ignore that my own stripes will still be full of bubbles since I did them last night/ this morning and we havn't had any sun to cook em out. Maybe they'll be gone by the end of LOG. Hopefully. Please come by and say Hi. Well back to work...

You can go straight to the Speedway. We'll have a registration table set up there for just such an occasion.

Mick, one other question...

My dad and I are planning to attend the reception tomorrow evening, and are contemplating what car to drive- Will there be reserved parking for Lotus cars (despite not staying at the hotel), or should we plan to drive something less worrisome?

Edit: Duh! LOG has officially begun- Mick's gonna be busy for a few days-

Nearly 98% of Hotels do have free Wifi. Although when I travel for work I only stay at Marriott's. I know all Marriott's do at least haha.

The wife is going to be mad. The laptop is coming with me

Hey maybe when i come home she will have the desktop back hooked up. Then again maybe it would be better if that was left to me.

I read on the log site that instructors for the track day were available. Instruction is always great but I would prefer to go solo. So I hope that it is not a requirement...

I'll second that notion^
Main reason for me is i want to give my cousin a ride along at least for one session.

Really that was one of the main reasons I did the track day for LOG 29 as the last LOG it was not a requirement unless you didn't have track experience. I hope that is still the case.

The Ultima is staying at home, not enough time to get it ready. I'll be there in a BRG Exige S.

Looking forward to seeing a bunch of cool cars and great museum.
