I wish I could have made this trip. For those that are a little more local, our local SCCA forum (Central Carolina Region) has a sticky with our favorite twisty roads.

At the Dragon today. I have seen a blue S4 Seven and 2 Elise and 2 Exige. I had my longest drive in the Seven today. Sun - clouds - rain. No door, top or working windshield wiper. Motoring in the classic way. Great fun.

Was a blast!
So Randy did the new Rossion make it up to Chicago? It was really a treat running with it on the road, and nice to meet your passenger as well
Racy Tracy, Moto, Andrew-you guys make it back safe and sound too?
OnefastLotus and Crashtestdummy- I'm jealous you took an extra day there today. Looking forward to seeing some of that video.
Rich S- I just got off the phone with you, but glad to hear you're almost safely home in TX with only a couple hundred miles more to go. Good luck in the Lemons race this weekend.

For all you pansies that didn't make LOG- you should look at the hard core group we had go to the Dragon. Not only did they drive all they way to LOG, but then they they took an extra day here before going home. Rich drove 5 hours the wrong way and then at the end of the day still added 2 more hours to his trip to be able to dragon again (twice more) Randy has a 4000 mile trip home in a brand new unsorted exotic car etc.
For those that say its too far, we even had a member come from Hawaii AND came with their car!!!!! (not to the dragon but to LOG)

Today( day after the main meet) was pretty decent. Met up with ChrisN and his friends ( nice to meet all of you by the way). Had a few technical problems but ended up working out. Today our rear tires were totally bald. Do'h! Ran into some HEAVY rain on the way home, was fun with the bald tires, but we made it.

We saw a blue Exige with Orange stripe, looked nice. Also saw a nice yellow elan.

Found out at the bikers lodge today that they had 10 crashes the day we all were there, and the guy we saw off the road in the bushes, he ended up dying.

DaddyD, wish you could have stayed, wish everyone could have stayed. Some of you I messaged on facebook. We need a longer trip there. There's just too much to drive, and too much to see for a day, or even two day trip.

A few problems, sorry Mick etc, we didn't know you guys were gonna wait up. We stopped and took some shots of the Mountains and then got stuck behind that crappy ass trike bike thing.

I think we've got some decent video, need to download it. And I've got photos as well. We just got home not too long ago, I'll get to it soon.

Here are my pictures from the Tail of the Dragon and the caravan of Randy, Todd and myself to Indianapolis. If anyone wants hi-res copies of any of these pics, send me your email address and the picture number.

Of all of the photos I have of you at that gas station that expression was the most kind.

I'm toying with the idea of organizing a multi day drive centered around the Dragon, using the Fontana Village as our base camp. Maybe September-ish. I'd include all of the roads we did on Tuesday plus a little bit of the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Devil's Triangle.

What do you guys think?

In!!! I would LOVE that!!

Mick, ET all, I greatly appreciate your hospitality and it was a pleasure meeting all of you. It is really cool to finally get to put a face, voice and in life personality with all the names you have known for years. Randy, have a safe and fun ride home. I will get that chip in the mail ASAP. Thank you very much for the help. Can you pm me what address to send it to? This really is a great group. Those roads are a lot of fun. We ate rear tires on both cars. LOL the ride home in the rain and hail was interesting at times. It was really cool to get to drive with ChrisN and his crew. I am glad our MacGyver fix worked and you got home safe. Chris, we need to get together more for local drives. Always a pleasure folks!

Thanks for everything………now where are everyone’s pics/video?

Great meeting you all and loved the driving and scenery. Driving the Dragon at night was something very special and made me realize how good these cars really are.

Sorry to bail out straight after lunch but was trying to beat the storms and failed miserably! My fronts were pretty bald at the end and driving through torential rain in West Virginia (the storms were utterly amazing to see) was a little hair raising with quite a bit of aqua planing going on but made it home pretty much in one piece.

Thanks for organizing this, it was fantastic.

As a native San Diegoan, Andrea got to experience something out of the ordinary outside of Indianapolis - a menacing looking storm front that delivered a blinding rain storm. No damage done and just another experience in the adventure.

What a great day and even better company!
