I appreciate that folks are continuing to post images or links to photos they took this past weekend - those are fun to see. At Barber, I think I vaguely remember an "official" track photographer at the drivers' meeting, but I can't find any websites or links concerning this. Can someone please post a link to the this person's website, if such a person actually exists?

LOG29 was so much fun! The people were great.
I'm looking forward to the next LOG. 16 months is too long of a wait. Here's a link to three Youtube videos I posted. The quality isn't that great though. |

Repost: Slaughter and I finally squared off face-to-face at LOG29.
In this shot, Ronnie is indignant at being told that the roll bar would have to be modified before he could drive the car. ![]()

We were finally able to settle the debate over which is faster on track - cars or motorcycles. As this ultra high speed shutter photo taken by RacyTracy proves, I was so much faster on track than y'all that you couldn't even see me go by.

But in all seriousness, I couldn't have gotten luckier than to get a ride with RichS in his NA Exige. The man has mad skills behind a wheel! Thanks, Rich.

Melissa and I had a great time at LOG! Hats off to Mick and the other organizers. I just put a bunch of pictures up on Photobucket. If you see something you like and want a higher res copy, PM me. Things are mostly sorted by albums (listed on the left side of page).
LOG 29 pictures by DempseyFamily - Photobucket Things I will remember... - The banking at Talladega is incredible. - A gentleman from Florida let me sit in his Caterham. Then gave me the keys and told me to have fun! ![]() - Alabama has some wonderful scenic roads, especially the mostly empty stretch from Cheaha up to I-20. Cheaha drive, however, was stuffed with SUV's at every turn. ![]() - The Esprit is still a striking design. Its been a long time since I've seen one in person and I'd forgotten just how cool they are. - The Evora is like Talledega... much more impressive in person. Can't wait to get a chance to drive one. - Barber Motorsports Part is truly a park. What a great setting for beautiful cars! - BS Levy and Peter Egan are both great writers and entertaining speakers, in their own different ways. - I'm amazed at the many different faces of Elises and Exiges. Lots of modifications in lots of ways and they all looked great! - I now want and Elan, a Caterham, and an Evora. |

Wow!
Met some great people and reconnected with some friends. I bought some cool stuff from the various vendors. The special guests were very friendly. It was a joy to talk with these folks one on one and in small groups. A few people had problems with their cars. I always saw people pitching in to help out. Loaning tools, sharing parts, turning a wrench or offering advise. I almost wish that my carburetor problem had eluded me a bit more, then I could have gone hat in hand to Bob Dance for advise. The sponsors were great! I talked with several of them and they made good impressions on me. I want to give my business to people who care about their customers. Thank you for supporting LOG with your time and money. There was more to do than I could handle. I had to make some hard decisions on priorities and sit out some events . Notably the car control stuff looked like a load of fun.I don't know of another marque group where a lowly enthusiast can get access to company executives and behind the scenes information like Lotus and LOG. |

On the corkscrew I took the approach of early apexing the first curb at 7 and going in so hot that I was still braking rather than accelerating down to the 2nd and 3rd curbs. I'm not sure if that was the fastest way through, but I was certainly up the tailpipe of anyone in front of me by the end of that complex. (My fastest lap was a 1:42.9) I really liked this track... I'd be a regular here if it wasn't a 12 hour drive!

I got a bit gun shy after spinning out, sliding backwards down the corkscrew then ending up turned around and ready to go again, so I eased it back a bit after that.
I posted a link to it a page back that goes to an exhaust thread (its at the end of the video if you want to see the craziness) What the...1:42 is crazy fast!!! ![]()
