Fairly new - Long time lurker

Hi, like the title says im a fairly new member but long time lurker (Wasn't planning on making an account till i got my own elise but there was this thread about someone putting T.V's on the headrest of the elise and I couldn't just ignore and not reply to it lol). Been a big fan of lotus since I heard about it in 2004. Ever since then I've been dreaming of actually owning my own elise.

I am finally planning on buying one spring next year just before summer rolls in . I have a couple question, has any of you who are based in Southern California ever bought a car out of state and had problems registering it? Like smog problems and such? What is the preferred insurance of lotus owners and what would be the general rate for it (Planning on tracking it or autoXing but probably a few years after I got it)? I have more questions but I'm sure i can find those on the "uberthread post".
