Rookie...Congrats on the new car. I'm sure it looks great...but you might want to try a different way of posting your pics....they're too small to see.

Elise or Exige? Pics are too small to see.

Congradulations Rookie! I spotted you running down Midlothian last weekend (by the Euroclassics Lotus dealership). I just happened to be inside talking to Robert and getting the keys to the dark Green demo Elise. I ended up buying the 2006 Solar Yellow one that was in the showroom (Hard Top, LSD/TC, Sport Pack, Star Shield and Touring Pack). I just took delivery today (well... yesterday at this point).

It was a long road for me... I had a deposit on a 2005 Safron Yellow that came in last June, but ended up letting it go. I then spent the following months in anguish trying to decide what to do. I am 6' 6"/250 lbs. and wasn't sure if I really did fit or if I was just trying to make myself fit. Anyway, long story short, the new seats seem ever so slightly wider (or at least the ones in this Solar Yellow one), the ProBax foam makes a big difference and the pedal assembly is shifted slightly to the right allowing my feet more room to work. These minor changes (and the months of torture) pushed me to take the plunge. I drove close to 100 miles today and was comfortable the whole time.

I have already started to modify mine to accomodate my higher line of sight out the front by removing the visors, doing a temporary install of a smaller rearview mirror from one of my Triumphs and removing the hard top filler strip/panel. I am going to cut down the filler strip/panel so that it doesn't wrap down under the top of the windshield frame. I hope to be able to peel back the cloth covering, cut/reshape the panel and then reglue and trim the excess cloth.

-Brian

How do you like the track pack? I ordered the same combo in Oct. Krypton with track pack, hard top and LSD. Mine's due in March. If you have any more pics, please post them.

Got it!

Folks:
My 06 Solar Yellow arrived last night.

Here's the specifics (Touring, Traction Control,
Star Shield, Premium, and Black Pack).
It is a blast!

Just had a few minutes to snap a photo -- will
see if it attaches.

Thanks. Here's another one. Please note: The photo is attached with some trepidation. It shows the extruded aluminum "official" Lotus Cupholder that comes with the premium package. It's a hoot.

Got it

Here are a couple of others. One is my new toy with my other toy (a 2001 C4 Coupe). The other photo is not good quality, but does show the back end with the black package.

The radio that comes with the premium package is an Alpine 9820XM. One gives up the MP3 capability, but gets XM radio instead (3 months free). I haven't had the top off yet, but I thought the sound was quite a bit better than I had anticipated from previous discussions of the 05 versions.

OH MY!!

That cupholder looks like some type of ancient, sadistic tool!!
I can't help but think what else would fit in there and it wouldn't feel very good!!!

Anyone else have similar thoughts?

Purchased 1-31-06 in Rancho Mirage, CA.

Just purchased my "Brand New" 2005 Lotus Elise yesterday! Great story behind this one. I was interested in this vehicle in late summer 2005. It was everything I wanted (Red, Touring, Starshield, Tan Leather interior). I decided to pass. Was out in the Palm Springs area yesterday and it was still there! This car is beautiful. I only wanted this exact combination and it was still there! I'm a regular customer at Desert European Motorcars, they have always made my car buying experience a delight!

Yes, that is a Red Exige in the Background! And Yes, that car is beautiful! The mark-up was $5,000 over MSRP on that one. Back to that Exige........that car looks great in person!

That's a shame......the mark-up that is.

Mainly because there have been at least 2 advertised right on this forum that
have been at MSRP at very respectable dealers.

Not flaming anyone or any dealer, just making a point.
You think they might have learnted their lesson(s) with the Elise though.

Glad to hear you got a great deal!
