The Elise the Elise. It's annoying all the attention it gets if there's a couple more it'll be like a supermodel party

I was hoping for supermodels to come and rub against the cars. Let me know when that happens.

I'll see what I can do. You know there are some pretty good looking track girls there. The Track Owners daughter and friend are great eyecandy

Got Mine

Picked up my '07 from Beverly Hills two weeks ago.
The stop-and-go traffic in LA made for an interesting drive back home to San Diego. I'll be washing it for the first time this weekend. I've got the Zaino products ready.

Congrats Toisan, welcome to the family. Post some pics of your beauty after you wash her up.

I weighed my options between having it shipped and driving it home. I opted for the drive home so I bought myself and my girlfriend a one-way ticket from LA to Memphis, picked the car up Saturday afternoon, made it home by 6am Monday morning for a total of 2200 miles ( I went through Dallas to have dinner with my mom).

My gf has some pretty good pics from the road I need to get from her. For now, I have these two.

I have a second car, but I have only driven it twice since I got the Elise.

It is for sale if anyone is interested in a perfect condition 05 Mazda RX-8. I think I might get a station wagon to carry stuff around with and as a backup.

The Elise makes a great daily driver in LA.

Cheers,

Chris
Chris, my RX-8 will be paid off in 2 more months.

I am such an idiot. Why did I join this forum when my car will be paid off soon? Why am I never satisfied? Why do I suddenly have this feeling in my stomach that I will own a Lotus soon? Why do I have this feeling in my gut that I will be spending a lot of time on this forum in the next several months?

I need another "pure" sports car, more like my 93 RX-7. What else is there other than Lotus in this price range? Nada.

How does the Elise compare to your RX-8 Chris?

One word - seduction. Sports car owners like us are suckers for that kind of thing - 10x when it's an Elise. Ask me how I know

Well, you can answer that question yourself. How would you rate your RX-7 against your RX-8?

For me (current owner of a '94 RX-7), the RX-8 can't compare. And I bought my Elise 3 months ago, so Elise > RX-7 >> RX-8

Welcome to the madness

Yeah, I hear ya. I know I am in trouble. The day I test drive one I know it will be all over. I used to race Shifter Karts. Lighter = better!

Right you are re the RX-7 vs RX-8. I mean, there are things I like about the 8 better for sure (smoother, more touring friendly, more dependable) but the exhilaration is lacking compared to the 7.

I guess a better question would be directed to you: how does the Elise compare to your FD?

And I apologize if this is off topic. Should we move this conversation to a different thread?

Not to bore other readers...

my story has been told here - http://www.elisetalk.com/forums/show...postcount=1375

and the 'cause' told here - http://www.elisetalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=38855

If you want to save yourself from the temptation, do NOT take a test drive. I repeat, do NOT take a test drive.

On high-speed track days (110mph - 160mph) and turbo addicts, the RX-7 provides unparallel experience for cars in its class (and some). The Elise can't touch it there.

On handling and road feedback, the Elise makes the RX-7 feels like a GT. I thought my RX-7 was 'raw' (also true for a '95 Miata I owned) but the Elise is in a class of its own. On smooth straight tarmac, you can't tell much difference but boy, once you hits twisties and in constant 2nd-3rd gear, the RX-7 feels big and ponderous.

First time at the track with the Lotus and boy, I can't wait to take it out again. Contemplating going to Lime Rock on Aug 20th. Is anyone going to be there?

Sorry about the big picture. In a rush and couldn't figure out how to shrink it for the attachment.

Bought new '06 Elise yesterday :)

Hi all,

I was itching for sports car, more like street legal race car and I thought about Lotus and did quick review and comparison (I was looking into Cayman), I wanted best "street legal race car" that I can feel the road to the fullest like I used to race in Formula 500, Formula Mazda and Formula Renault so I test drove Elise yesterday and was hooked right away. I mean, the fit is so perfect, it is like glove fit, like we are made for each other! So I bought it right away. They have '06 clearance sale and they offered $48,000 for that Elise with all of options (Sports, Tourning, Premium, Hard top, diamond pattern, et al) and I took it!

Now I am very happy driver! It is me, my Elise and the road! Nothing else matters!

Nice deals on the 06's

Looks great Jclark93. Is that the Criswell dealer in that picture? Enjoy, sounds like you've been hooked be the Elise.
