Just bought mine!

It is used, but only has 4200 miles on it. However, I notice some unusal metal vibrating sound. Other than that, the car is in great condition.

Hi Ciavatta,

Looks like you have some great roads to play on. You also want to say hi to the guys on seloc.org which is a UK based site and I'm pretty sure has some other Italian owners on it.

Happy motoring

Got mine on Saturday morning at 8AM!!!

I've already installed two-thirds of my mods in the first two days.

Did have a strange story, though. As well as a comment that I got.

EDIT: added more pictures from friend's camera + comment

Yes, the roads near my "winter-house", in a mountain region near Rome are very twisty and clean...with a fantastic layout...driving the Elise there is like playing with a playstation!
Now, i must wait the snow to take some white-on-white picture...

I know Seloc, and asap I'm going to post some pics also there.

Yes, even after a great mechanic added some sound-deadening to my baby, considerable rickety-rackety is still there. At least his efforts helped keep the bolts of the diffuser from backing out easily, and the ducs from being dislodged by the occasional autoX pylon.

I often wonder at how much the infernal racket contributes to after-market sales after the thrill of driving the elise wears off some drivers. I'm betting it's no small number.

Actually, I am not too worry about the vibrating sound and can't really enjoy the radio. But I was just wondering since I am not sure if it is normal and I have never sit inside another Elise before.

About the bolts, I also find two loose bolts that tighten the bottum of the engine bay after I took the delivery.

Anyways, I am still learning and try to get to know my Elise more every weekend. I only had 400 miles on it while first 70 of them is from dealer back home.

weird noise

Wonder if BLUE helmet is talking about that weird buzz sound that comes from the engine bay and sounds like a weird weed wacker sound at or about 4 to 5 grand when your not totally hard into it. What ever it is doesn't seem to effect much. Mines been doing it since getting it back from the dealer when they changed out the instrument cluster 7k miles ago. Live with it and enjoy all the other music it makes.
P.S. whats the Elise R model the guy bought in Itlay? Looks like it's regular car no sports package.
P.P.S. I'm auto Xing at FEDEX this weekend first legal thrashing of the Elise, fun fun.

I get this sound too. I checked around the engine bay and could not spot anything. I nut and bolt checked my engine service panel and rear diffuser and some engine service panel 8mm bolts were a little loose. I tightened them up but still get the noise when partial throttle.
Could it be some sort of phenomenon with the intake making this noise when partial throttle? Everything seems to be running normal and I'm not too worried about it.

I'm with you maybe it's some kind of air variation noise that comes from the air box. I've seen threads about it also. One guy told me about the center console rubbing. I put felt on it and it seemed like I didn't hear it for a couple miles but then there it was. Oh, well like I said enjoy all the other sounds it makes, like the Stage 2 exhaust and the open airbox. What a growl that makes, nice.
