Long time lurker, first time owner (and my first Lotus moment!)

After months of looking and lurking, I bought a well-kept 2005 Elise today. It is a gorgeous autumn day, so I took it for a spin on Skyline Blvd (overlooking San Francisco Bay & Pacific Ocean) and had my first Lotus moment -- the front turn signal popped loose and flopped around the hood, dangling by the wires!

The car is so tiny and cozy. It reminds me of a Spec Miata race car, only with a lot more power.

I think the popped out turn signal is like a secret Lotus handshake!

Welcome! And three little dabs of clear GE silicone II will hold it in place with the needed flexibility.

And with any luck that will be the only thing that falls off or goes wrong.

Pic from NorCal

Okay, here she is. I suspect she will remain all-natural, without artificial enhancements. That's the way I prefer my street cars. Otherwise they slide down the slippery slope of becoming race cars and I've just crawled back out of that canyon. But the Elise really reminds me of a race car, but with a one-way radio and a working heater.

I'm not sure how much longer it'll be sporting the aftermarket splitter if that driveway is a daily obstacle

Nice looking ride!
