New and easy question

skip to the bottom for the short part

ok first things first, live in Virginia. Had an RX8, found out rotary engine is not like the previous one, ie...weak. so turbo out the question and i sold it. but before i sold it i ran into an elise and a cayman s, seperatley at dif times. both waxed me. the cayman had a tpc turbo kit or something. on another occasion i ran into a regular 05 elise silver pretty car, and he waxed me too, dont know what mods are on that but i was spraying and i ran a 13.2 on the bottle....onto the rest....

i am certain you guys have probably heard this question a million times.
im 90% leaning towards the lotus elise, cheaper than the cayman and better performing and just plain looks better, and YES ive done my research on issues and TSB's and all that crap but i don't care....

i want a car sharp enough to be a utensil for an emo kid to leave the planet, i want something that is raw , and thats the elise......

but alas, I am 6 foot 4 inches tall, and the closest elise for me to consider is 6 hours away....will i fit, i dont care if easily, i mean can i DRIVE it. i can fit in my ex wifes crossfire but i couldnt heel toe it since my knees were rammed into the steering column. i did use the search as well, i think that i may be mildly retarded without coffee and i couldnt find the answer. (maybe i dont know the terms of this site for searching)

if you all say that i am too tall, so be it...ill take my 40k to the porsche dealership and get something with half the balls of the cone killer

Thank You

you'll fit, unless you're 6'4 and 300lbs

alas, size does matter

If you search you will find threads about height. But, it just depends on your turso. I had a guy that was 6' tall with short legs and he couldn't fit. We both were laughing are asses off because we couldn't believe it. Yet, there are a few people on here that are 6'4

6 hours? Really? 'Cause I can drive from here (10-15 minutes from Lotus dealer) to nearly anywhere in VA in that time, and I know there's Criswell in MD--surely there's a dealership closer to you where you can at least try the car out.

Seriously, though, post your city. Chances are there's someone within a reasonable distance from you.

That said, it depends on how long your legs are. There are people taller than you who drive these. My dad is 6'4" and he could drive it, but has a hard time getting in and out--he's only been behind the wheel of it once but has ridden in it plenty of times.

yes.. chrome orange is definitely the most aerodynamic color and it also boosts horsepower by at least 10 percent - similar to the speedhole stickers Ive been seeing on the honda civics around here

that made me laugh, really. I appreciate your responses. and im only 195 so im not overweight and my body proportions go mostly towards the two walking twigs below me. I just responded to a pm a guy sent me as ill be up at fort meade tonight and all day tomorrow......

hopefully it doesnt look like im playing twister when i get in the car. But im sure there is probably not going to be a problem. i just saw an avatar on here of a member standing next to his and it looks like he might be a hair shy of 9feet tall

oh and im looking for white or silver, but im sure if i slap a VVTI and Type-r sticker on the boot that will make up for not getting orange. Hopefully ill have one within the next week or two...driving the 3 series slushbox spirited is like trying to get a cow to ice skate...doesnt work.

Chrome orange meh...
Burnt orange
Lava orange

I'm in Va and agree with Maggie. There are many Lotus in Va that are much closer than 6 hours away. Euroclassics in Richmond, Criswell in MD if you're in NoVa, LoD in Durham,NC, not to mention all of the owners...

And if you slap a VVTI or Type-R sticker on the back of your car I hope it slaps you back.

I live in Alexandria. You are welcome to come by sometime and see if you fit in the Elise. I am 6'2" about 185lbs and fit well. I even slide the seat forward a bit to reach the pedals better. Surprisingly, the Elise has more room for the driver than expected. Now if there are two folks sitting in the car, that is a different story. It can get a bit cramped sitting shoulder to shoulder.

my son is 6'3" and 330lbs and he can fit.

Although it is scary while he's wriggling in and hilarious once i see that nothing is broken.

Once He was getting in and he actually fell out

Thing is if he weren't 330 lbs it wouldn't be all that bad

...with the roof off....

He says the bugs skid across top of his head at highway speed.

leaves a sticky residue

nothing he can't rinse out so far.

your knees won't be in the dash.

I live in south texas and I can be half way to chicago in oklahoma in 6 hours.

go sit in one.

You will fit if you want to.

I'm 6'5" and fit ok in the stock Elise, but now fit great due to a few mods.

Search on things like "tall person's mods" to find threads about moving pedals forward, custom seat, etc.

Thanks,

Joe

You should fit, but you will look awkward sitting in it.
