New Orange Lotus Owner here

I've always been intrigued by the Elise finally decided to get myself a clean '06 Chrome Orange. I've had other exotics, but I've always been disappointed how bland and toned down they are becoming with power steering, weight adding luxuries, numbed down feeling. I just needed something pure.

I hoped that the Elise would live up to the hype, and it turned out to be even better. My modified NSX and 500 hp Viper were never this much fun. It's just so addicting to drive.

I still have my Z06 as a daily driver and I love them both for different reasons. The Z is definitely faster and more comfortable, but the Lotus beats it in every other area. It's definitely a combo I'd recommend

Here's some pics:

Welcome to the converted. Every car you drive from today onward will be at a significant comparative disadvantage...

Good to have you here. If you want to know the real reason Lotuses are so loved by enthusiasts, its the community of owners.

Feel free to ask questions.

yeah, the lotus is tough to beat. Wait till you add a supercharger to the elise. Nothing else like it.

Thanks for all the nice words guys. This car is so addictive to drive that I find myself making excuses for little trips all of the time now.

I had no idea there were so many other Lotuses in SE Michigan, let alone Orange. Oh yeah, I'm just west of Ann Arbor. I'll have to keep my eyes open for cruises and events coming up.

This forum's been very helpful the last few days in the learning process. Eventually, I'm aiming to get the orange beast up to around 250 rwhp. Already thinking about the BWR supercharger....

After reading all of the mag reviews of this car, the one thing that strikes me is how much more comfortable the car is than I thought it would be. Once you get in to the car, it hugs you and fits like a glove. It's just as comfortable, if not more, than my C5Z06. The other stupid thing is how people complain about how hard it is to get in and out of the car (Forbes claimed 30 seconds to a minute in their first drive of the Elise). For me, it's about 3 seconds to get in and 5 to get out at most. For those afraid to get an Elise/Exige because of reviews like this, don't believe all of the hype.

It's not my daily driver because I have other cars, but if I didn't it easily could be.
