New owner from NJ of 2005 Elise!! - LotusTalk

Hey guys!

So after several months of searching, I will be picking up an '05 Starlight Black Elise this coming Saturday. I am actually coming from an '02 S2000 which I've owned for two years so I'm very excited about picking up the car and learning to drive it well. I'm from Northern Jersey and I'll be sure to check out any local sub-communities on this forum as well.

As a side note, the car I'm purchasing has the sport pack, touring pack and hardtop. It currently has about 15k miles on the odometer. I will surely be using the search function on this forum to do my research, however is there anything that you would say from experience is good to look for / inspect on a used lotus?

Let me know your thoughts! I'll be sure to post pictures once I pick up the car this weekend.

By the way - do you happen to be picking up your car from Ed over at Sports and Specialist in Hopewell? I ask because I was over there a few days ago (I live very nearby) and I saw a Starlight Black out front with a "sold" sign on it.

thanks for all the well wishes! I'll look into the LEO events and yes, I did purchase the car from Sports and Specialist Cars.

I've already used the forum to diagnose/treat some issues I've discovered already:

-The speedo/tach were overreading, so I used the reset I found on the forum
-I have a steering wheel shake above certain speeds - could be a balancing issue, over torquing, but hopefully not a bent wheel - waiting to hear back from my balancer today
-the A/C seems to slow down a bit after driving for a while - could be due to icing or the probe adjustment which I read up on

All in all, so far the forum has been pretty useful
