So we are to assume that you have either purchased a used Elise sight unseen from a private seller and were just at the dealer to try on one OR you purchased a used Elise from said dealer even though they don't have one available .

Yea, its a bit confusing. Bought the car online. Went to a dealer to test drive, had no Elises, test drove an Exige. No problems. Just was concerned about the door thingy.

Yes pornboy,

The Exige top comes off in exactly the same manner as the Elise top "right out of the box." The "mod" that people do is placing the bar stay grommets in order to fit a soft top.

So shouldn't you have asked this before you considered buying mate?
That's like buying a plane and saying "I just realized...I'm an aerophobic..."

I DON'T have porn on my computer...
It's okay, say what you want, because I'm not in my mid life crisis yet, unlike someone.

But okay then. I haven't seen a topless Exige yet, besides one photo.

Imagine that during your test drive you could see out of the back window slightly better than you did in the Exige. There, you just test drove an Elise.

Don't consider it a major issue. Now, if I could not operate the car, that would be a different issue. Plus, it was a death trap getting out of that dealership.

Well that's why after I make my Multi-Million Dollar Corporate Empire and eventual Leadership of the free world I'll get a Lotus for fun and keep an Audi A8L + Merc. S-Class for comfort.

Actually my housekeeper'd have found it, or my mom, so I wouldn't be able to hide it under my mattress.

Have pics or a link to the car? I'm sure you'll do fine, you made it to this forum so that's one feather in your cap of Lotus ownership.

Oh, and welcome to the Lotus Family!
