Nürburgring 24h 2009 - practice and race

I am not a professional photographer nor do I have an adequate equipment, but some of you might be interested in getting in touch with the atmosphere of this unique GT, sports and touring class race with some 170 cars on the track.

Race start and highlights can be seen here:

The Ford GT set the pace in practice and the first few laps, but did not finish the race.

The beauty of the traditional track in the Eifel hills, still present although it is almost completely framed by FIA fences these days.

beautiful pics

The R8 really seems to come alive in race trim. I never really liked the look of the street car, but in these shots it looks great.

And the Ford GT, what can you say, I really wish they still made that car. The only car over 100k that I would call a good deal.

Nice pics, I think they look great. How did "The Queen of the Nürburgring" do this year? She's awesome!
