Discount Tire will be conducting a weekly giveaway on lotustalk.com for the next 4 weeks!

Once a week, we will be giving 1 lucky member a $50.00/$100.00 Gift Card. This Gift card will be good for $50.00 off your next purchase of 4 wheels or 4 tires or $100.00 off your next purchase of any wheel and tire package from Discount Tire, America's Tire, or Discount Tire Direct.

We will be picking a winner at random once a week for the next 4 weeks and winners will be sent a PM notifying them that they have been selected.

How do you qualify?

Just post a picture of your vehicle here. Tell us what size wheels and tires you are running. We don't care if they are aftermarket or OE. We just want to see them. Your name will be entered into a hat and one name will be drawn out per week. You can post as much as you want but your name will only be entered once. You can also only win once so if you win the first week..... Lucky you.

And how are you planning on 1. Being aware of everyone who lists you in their signature and 2. keeping up with everyone who lists you in their signature?

i have bought two sets of toyos for my other cars at my local Discount Tire. They don't stock them but they can get them.

I don't know if it is the same with Discount Tire Direct

So....ever since Randy sold this forum, people have complained about the additional advertising. A number of people even left the forum because of it. And now a few hundred advertisements plastered around in signatures (if they could be) in an effort to win a prize is suddenly acceptable??

Well, I think for me, I won't be purchasing ANYTHING from Discount Tire. This kind of heavy-handed advertising just doesn't sit well.

That is nonsensical. Because they're doing a promotion, you're IRKED? How is this different from a group buy or any other sales promotion for that matter? I'm assuming you don't own a cell phone either, right? Surely the "heavy-handed advertising" cell phone companies do would make you wanna pull your hair out.

Well, as a consumer, I chose what vendor I decide to do business with. If I don't like their advertising or how they do business (especially in relation to other vendors of the same or similar products), I take my business elsewhere, even if I have to pay a few more $$. Obviously, I don't call up the power company and say, I'll be damned if I'm going to buy electricity from them -- but this is not a monopoly we're talking about.

Banner ads are one thing. Having us put advertisements for their company in our signatures, to me, is something else. Everybody's entitled to their opinion on it. That's just mine.

Banner ads and logos don't bother me at all-that's what keeps sites like this free.

As for Discount, I love the store I use (I-70 and Tower in Denver). From the top down, they seem very customer-oriented. They had the jacking points and the torque specs all printed out and ready when I came in to get a new set of Advans. They do great work (and they gave me a great deal).

So is DT going to search the entire member's list to see who has put their picture or link or whatever into their signature? How else are they going to know that dickedup or RT or anyone else put it in? I'm still not clear how they plan to see who has qualified for their giveaway.

I don't see the problem here.. We get a free site to use any time we like and all we have to do is deal with a little advertising.. Sounds like a win situation to me.. If you dont like the advertisements they are quite easy to block.

As for Discount Tire. They are doing something nice for the community while getting a bit of advertising. No biggy and a few people get the bonus of a gift cert, or whatever else they are giving away...

I don't know about you guys but I like free stuff! This promotion isn't meant to monopolize anything. Its a way for us to give back to those that support and appreciate Discount Tire. We appreciate everyone's business and I have been given some things to give out to members here. By changing your signature I can see who has read this and I can be sure that the goodies we give get into the hands of people that want them and to the people that support us. No we are not going to do a search through every member to see if they have changed their signature. We frequent enough forums here, mainly the ones we sponsor though (wheels and tires), that if we see our logo in your signature within the next month you may be selected as a winner.

Remember, This promotion is optional no one is forcing you to participate, but if you want a chance to win some free stuff over the next 4 weeks give it a shot. Good luck to you all. We appreciate your support.

I think what you've missed is that we aren't allowed to put graphics in signatures here. The board software specifically blocks it out.
