Preliminary results are posted
I have published raw results at event results page. You must be participant of event to see that link.
By the end of morning session the wind picked up and apparently debris were triggering the finish light. Once we raised the finish sensors the problem went away. But by that time we had some messed up times recorded and some of these times were looking dangerously close to truth as they were short by just few seconds. Only when I looked at reports at the end of the event it became obvious that some times were too good toi be true so I removed those times that were out of line. Please review and let me know if you still see some weird or missing times.

My 2009 GGLC PAX points does not list me at all. And finally while I hate to admit it Nicks PAX points are being calculated off 2 runs + a rerun rather that his third run of 44.840

Alex, the first five runs in the morning were posted by hand as a back up in case the data was lost. Do you have the manual postings? I'm trying to piece together time slips, but it's a nightmare.
Ken is shown taking 15 runs and he only took 12. I've found time slips that match some of the times you have posted, but some times that are posted bear no relation to any of our time slips. AACK! |

Okay, Alex, it's WAY past my bedtime, but I did manage to figure out that you have Ken's first five runs correct, then the next five runs you show for Ken are MY first five runs. You should be able to confirm this with the handwritten times (the written times will be under my name in the D run group, but the computer entered them as 24 - Ken).
After that things get messed up and I can sort some but not all of it out. I think maybe my fastest overall clean run was a 42.5 and Ken's was a 42.5 or a 42.9 We have a slip with 42.596 which I think is mine, and a 42.549 and a 42.953 slip which might be Ken's because Gopal doesn't think these two are in his handwriting - he was the finisher for my heat. That's the best I can do for now. |

And... before I forget. I think Jason did a 44 flat on his third "for points" run, and it doesn't show correctly on the results. Also, he did two runs in our car (my two last runs - I only took 10 runs), and he did a 41.92 twice (thousandths apart). These two runs should show on his times.
My fastest scratch time was a 41.944, but I hit the #3 slalom cone and I would think I knocked it over (though I didn't drive through it or anything). The cone doesn't show up on my timing slip, but it's more than likely I knocked it out of the box (I hate to admit). |

Alex, I got our times fixed, sent you an email. BTW, you didn't erase my data, my times look like they were logged under Ken's number all day.
More important, THANKS to everyone for putting on really fun event. Ken & I blew off the SCCA SF Divisionals to run here and it was totally worth it! I saw LOTS of great driving out there. Thanks in particular to Jason for driving tips and for installing the data logger in our car. It was a great learning day. And, Rahul, maybe Jason can comment on the data logger results of the fast line through the two hairpins - I'm curious too. |

Personally I had a few 43.9 and low 44 that don't show on the raw results spreadsheet but maybe it is due to the fact that I ran both group B and C in the afternoon as I took the spot of the Solstice that broke down in the morning ? Not all my runs show there anyway (19 runs total). It is strange though as I had some of these times in both B and C.

Rahul, I fixed yours and Nicks times.
Also made Shelly's first 5 runs right. Pascal, I re-published RAW results allowing it to show 20 runs. See if you find yours. USe the link to event results wich has updated google docs links. Once we settle all the disputes I'll then work on PAX and points as it's waste of time doing those before raw times are confirmed. I'll be out for a while so don't panic if results are still messed up for a while.

July 18 Event
GGLC Autocrossers -
First, thanks for attending yesterday's event. It was enjoyable and great to see everyone enjoying their cars and one another. It was another challenging and fun course, thank you Ben for a great design. Second, we had a bit of excitement when a visiting helicopter visited our event. For many it was an unexpected, dusty, crazy interruption to the event. This morning the GGLC received the following letter from the pilot. Dear GGLC fellow autocrossers, I just wanted you guys and the entire Golden Gate Lotus Club membership to know that I am sincerely sorry for upsetting anyone yesterday for flying a helicopter over the course. I've been a member of GGLC for the past 2 years and have greatly enjoyed autocrossing and learning about the fine points of car handling and precision driving from other GGLC members. It's incredibly satisfying to learn a new course and improve one's elapsed time through the course. I just wish I could be faster at learning the course, and faster at driving it! Anyway, this past event, I didn't sign up as Shelly and Ken (who generously let me drive their Lotus Elise) had limited tread left on their tires. I thought it'd be fun to come and watch and flew a helicopter to the Marina airport. Some of the drivers came over and said hi, and I came over and watched the cars run for a while, and was getting ready to leave. As a joke, someone said wouldn't it be fun to see a helicopter flying the course. This discussion took on a life of its own, and became one of those things that seemed to be a good idea at the time, but are distinctly stupid in retrospect. I've been flying for 30 years, and have over 6000 hours in airplanes and helicopters and should have had better judgment than flying directly over the course, but I did. It was only later that I realized that: -to most non-pilots, helicopters may be associated with bad situations (Lifeflight helos evacuating injured people, police helos looking for fugitives, military helos on an assault mission, etc) and may look and sound threatening -in spite of my sensitivity to not blowing any cones down (and delaying the afternoon fun runs), I blew some down, and that means that the rotor downwash kicked up a lot of dust and gravel, and probably caused a lot of discomfort -most of the drivers had no idea what was going on, and thought that some idiot in a helicopter suddenly showed up and pulled a dumb stunt. The mortifying thing is that they were absolutely right! So anyway, please accept my most sincere apologies. Though I've shown up for every GGLC event this season, and greatly enjoy autocross, I'm giving up my membership voluntarily as a gesture of contrition. If you guys ever let me back in the club, please let the membership know that anybody that was upset with me can at least count on a beer from me at one of the Mountain Mike post-autocross dinners, and I'd also be pleased to talk to them about helicopter ops or take them on a helicopter flight (even if they were not upset with me). I would hate to give people the wrong impression about general aviation. By the way, I'm also willing to come in and help with setting up and taking down the course, and (ouch!) not taking my runs. /s/ name deliberately leftoff by Kiyoshi Cheers, Kiyoshi GGLC Webguy PS. The GGLC accepts this apology and appreciates the gesture, but does not accept the pilot's membership resignation. No-harm, no-foul. I'm sure within a short time we'll be sitting around laughing at the time a helicopter ran our course at one of our events!

Another thing I can chalk up to never seeing before in my life, while not the smartest idea at the time I thought it was fun as hell and as long as the club isn't in trouble, forget about it (new york accent)!
