Thank you every one for making this event happen!
In and effort to eliminate waitlist we had allowed more entrants this time (72) and event took a little longer then usual. First car out was at 9:04am and last at 5:17pm with total number of runs completed at 892. I've processed the results and updated event results page

August event results are posted
You can find them at usual spot on motorsportreg.com
Did any one take any pictures so I can update the page with links? Thanks all for comping and making this another great event. The timing worked almost flawlessly. I could not spot any odd results. We had first car out at 9am and last at 4:30pm and every one had 13 runs. Members of setup crew got 15 runs. We completed 795 total runs (one car every 33s), hit 243 cones, had 12 DNF's and only 11 Re-runs. Shelly, your first run time was not recorded in AxWare so your points are based on your runs #2-4 but since your actual 3d run was best (recorded as second in AxWare) it does not matter. I'm leaving for oversees vacation tomorrow morning so won't be able to correct/respond/fix results for some time. Probably till after I get back on 9/25.

A update as the season draws to a end. The Sept. 19 event is sold out but with only 1 on the wait list (and a non-club member). Pretty sure we could fit a few more in.
For the final event Oct 17th, the paper work is signed and we'll be trying out a new site. The Centennial parking lot at Great America, in Santa Clara. Where the 49er's hope to be playing in a few years (and right across the street from there HQ and training faculties). Courtesy of our sponsor- Silicon Valley Autogroup, we will have a nice BBQ cooked on site (tri-tip and chicken and garden burger for the veggies) along with all the trimmings, heck we'll even have chairs and tables so everyone can sit down and enjoy it. Also thank to SVAG we'll have the trophies to give out to the season winners. Both Andrew and Jordan will be there. I'll let Andrew address it the day of but they are planning a unveiling of the Evora shortly. The final event opens up for registration first thing tomorrow at: MotorsportReg.com : Golden Gate Lotus Club Autocross announces 2009 GGLC Autocross Points Event 6 (Sat 17, Oct 2009) info at Great America- Centennial Lot, Santa Clara , CA 95054 (9965) Last edited by LarryB : 09-11-2009 at 01:54 PM. |

I'm tempted to sign up even if I don't have a car to run with, other than my hybrid - I think that would be a first for GGLC... is there a hybrid class?

Final 2009 Event
Another fantastic GGLC AutoX season!!!
Thanks go out to everyone for participating and helping! The GGLC autocrosses are fun and successful because each of you is willing to help/work. Of course without Larry, Alexander, Colm and Ben (course design) we'd be lost. HUGE KUDOS to them! ![]() ![]() While we go a bit quiet in the winter months it does give us some time to do a few upgrades to our equipment. Then in the coming few months we start work on the 2010 season. This is where we need you! The GGLC is looking for a few more avid folks to step-up and assisting Alexander and Colm. It's too much for 2 guys so some help from the rest of us is needed. Again, kudos to another great season! Cheers, Kiyoshi

So comes to a end our 5th season. This year we did a record 8 events. And ended at a new local site. Thanks to SVAG for sponsoring us all these years. More so in these trying times. They covered the swag we gave away early in the year, the great lunch we enjoyed this weekend and the awards we handed out to close the season.
We had a couple of the regulars head over to the Midwest and came back as National Champs. Cograts to Shelly who took the title in SSL and Ben in DSP, Ben did double duty as course designer for most of our events and both of them took on “instructor” duty for us. Congats to our season winners. In the Open class and defending his title from last year- Josh. In the Lotus Street class, after Colm taking it for the all the previous seasons, we crown a new winner- Michael. For the R-comp class- not too surprising that Shelly took it. For the overall Lotus driver, well with 4 prefect 100 points scores (we scored 4 best of 6 events), congrats to Jason. EDIT Here are the rest of my photos: GGLC 1009 Autocross - a set on Flickr Thanks to Ovidiu for these: Lotus autocross at Great America Parkway Last edited by LarryB : 10-19-2009 at 09:46 AM. |

Thank you Larry, Alex and other staffs
We enjoyed 2009 season. This was my first season of Autocross and luckily I was able to attend all events. I hope to improve more next year.

Hiro- Glad you enjoyed. We had pretty much dry conditions all season long (We've had a few in the rain /downpours). Wanted thank you for your help in setup and in particular for sticking around to the very end for tear down and getting everything packed up.

Nick- you are a true track junkie. At least we allowed you to double your seat time last year and shorted your drive for the final event. If you do make the move... should we expect you to fly in for next season, dates (autocrossing isn't very big overseas).

Awesome season and wonderful final event! Thanks to everyone who made it all happen.
I didn't know if I'd like the Great America site, but the hills and slopes were fun (and scary) in our car. See everybody sometime soon I hope... |
