It was a great event as usual. I dont have any photos from the AutoX but I did take this one at Mountain Mike

Thanks to everyone who helped put this one on. I was extremely consistent, got 51.x in all of my afternoon runs. I think finally getting an alignment from rob will help me understeer less on exiting turns so I don't have to cut speed. Also I think my tires are pretty heat cycled out, 9k miles (no joke!) on the AO48s and a few autox's now, so they were definitely not performing too well yesterday. I'll see how new tires and an alignment will treat me next month.

Let us know when registration for the next one opens

Yesterday’s event was a bit of a adventure. We not only had our first on course breakdown, it was followed shortly by a second one.

It was nice seeing that little shifter kart in action as well as the parachutes dropping in next door. We did manage to get some fun runs at the very end to help make up for it. Congrats to pedalponder and Kevin (non- LT member) who won the drawing for a future event.

I’ll post a link in the next few days, once I get some of them download. In the mean time here is a sample. The Evo’s aren’t the only one that can put a wheel in the air… check out Jason in action:

It was a great event ! It was my 1st auto-x ever (I bought my KG 07 Exige only 3 weeks ago). I got to meet some very interesting people and started to learn some too.
Thanks to the organizers.
Even though I spinned out of control twice, I slowly improved my times to post some 51.x in the morning and a 49.x in the afternoon.
I will definitely be back !
Here are some of the photos I took...

That was again an event w/ plenty of action. Unfortunately, my Lotus was being serviced so I had to drive my all-season shod daily driver which despite what it felt from the cabin did pretty good time wise.

Also, big thanks to rnr for letting me drive his Elise for one whole session!

Looks like a good day despite the two breakdowns. My Bro (Jeff) says there were a lot of DNFs in the morning, so I'm guessing the track was difficult. Wish I could have been there. How did the Elise SC do?

cheers,
Jacob

On the backside there was a tight low speed turn. Think folks tended to come in a little hot or didn't pick up on it till they were right on top of it. They would end up in the "parallel lane" that define the outside parameter of the tarmac. We open up that section in the afternoon...

Haven't seen the SC times yet. Last event she was mid-pack. Jason took it out for a spin last time and couldn't get too much out of it. Pretty sure she took it to Rob's for a proper alignment... so it'll be interesting to see the time logs this time around.

I'll be using it for the next event....it conflicts with a PCA picnic, but autocross trumps that easily.

It really need an alignment when I drove it. Now with that and the stickier tires it should be much better. That actually was a good course for the wider powerband.

I forgot to process my video before running to pick up the new daily driver so I may not get to it for a while.

414hp + 7spd is fun

Great vid! I see that we accomplished the same time using 2 different techniques. I think I need to learn how to shuffle steer effectively.

I forgot to turn on the camera and DL1 when you drove, would have been interesting to compare technique. Maybe next time

We've open registration for the July 27th date (Sunday):

MotorsportReg.com : Event Details

The form as change a bit, so let us know if there are any glitches. Will send a mass email to everyone on the mailing list. So expect this one to sell out in the next few weeks. We're taking the month of August off. Our next one wouldn't be until early Sept.

Photos from the weekend can be found at:

Thanks Larry for taking and posting the pictures. I still think my 9k street mile + 3 auto-x A048's were preventing me from turning better times as I wasn't getting the grip I wanted. I still had a blast and it makes some pictures look neat:

It's a good sign when you can tell if your grip is going away. Made the mistake a few events ago of taking my first run (in the afternoon) at full speed... boy those cold tires sure can feel like rocks and ended up plowing into a bunch of cones near the end. For track days, I always do a warm up lap.... guess there is a very good reason to keep it that way.

If you haven't had the shim pulled and a good street/track alignment, I'd add it to the list when you get the new tires mounted. Are you sticking with 048 or going to try the R888?

I'll take rnr up on his suggestion. The last of the cone killer sticker are going to go to those that spin it.

Yep going to head to robs for new oil, shims removed, alignment, and I think I'll try R888's. It's sad because I should have done this when I bought the car a couple years ago
