Thanks!
Larry & Co, thanks for putting up the event. It was a great learning experience for me on Auto Xing and understanding a little more about what the car can/cannot do.
Big thank you to Rahul and to my very patient instructor(whose name escapes me, I am ashamed to say) Jay

Jay, if it was the instructor you were working with at the very end of the day, it was Ruben who drives a Miata.
We’re in decent shape on the organization end of things. Think we’ve got a pretty good team going. Jason has been designing some very fun courses to run. Alex as co-chair does a good chunk of the prep / post work. Colm on equipment setup and time logging. Kiyoshi, driving the box van for the bulk of the events and helping Jason set up the course. We’ve got a pretty darn group of instructors to help out. There are a few spots that I think we could use some help with. Would like to have a pool of 4-5 regulars that can show up early. Say 7:15 or so it help setup the course. rnr has donated a laptop. For next season will take a closer look at the software package. If it works out well, hopefully we can better automate the time logs. Having session chiefs has been a big help. I do get in all my afternoon runs and suppose there is no real reason for me not to run in the morning. If I had think I could have taken another second off my weekend time. Never the less had a blast driving. Here are the rest of the photos: GGLC Autox 09/06/08 - a set on Flickr |

Well it took a while to work out all the details for lunch. But we're set, you can register at:
MotorsportReg.com : Event Details Club members for the first week. Thanks to Silicon Valley Autogroup for covering it. It's going to be BBQ, tri-tip and chicken along with all the trimmings. And we're passing the savings on to the drivers. As our final event of the year we'll have a few things to give away. The top Elise/Exige, R-compound, street and open car class winner will be getting a trophy and gift card good for parts and service at SVAG. A gift card will go to the most improved driver for the series and a random drawing for the final one (club member only). I'll let everyone on the motorsportreg mailing list know later today. |

We sold out a few days ago. Wait list is growing. Club members go to the head of the line (only 1 so far). So if your interested, I suggest getting on the wait list very soon. We most likely will be able to fit 3-4 more in. It'll be our last event for a good 5-6 months.

So last week I realized it's the night after halloween. Changed plans to end halloween night early.
Just realized we lost an hour of sleep also. Double whammy, great! ![]() May want to mention that in your email that daylight savings ends Nov1 at 2am. Dont want people showing up an hour late. Hoping I make it on time... edit: weather.com marina 10 day forecast (which is pretty inaccurate) saying few showers on the 31st...

The time change is “Fall” backwards, “Spring” forward. So we’ll be gaining a hour… hey maybe I shouldn’t mention it. We can start running even earlier. The last year or two we’ve done a very late Oct date. Starting the setup in the dark can be fun.
Should be a good event. I’ll double check with the BBQ guys tomorrow. Already have the awards and the SVAG folks will be there to hand them out along with the prizes. Then I’ll get started on a mini-kart series and a few track days for myself. ![]() |

Hoo boy, bring rain gear. Is there room for the buffet table inside the GGLC trailer? We don't want the food to get rained on.
I was looking forward to burning off my Hoosiers, but this should be fun either way -- I just got a new set of Dunlop Z1 Star Specs for the street...

Forecast is rain Friday, shower Saturday. Would expect to get wet. Checked with the BBQ guys, they will have a canopy for covering the BBQ pits. As a backup, they can then move it over the severing table. Guess this is a good reason to get the truck fitted with a canopy, before the start of next season.

Prepare for rain?
What do you consider for the autoX in rain?
I guess it's going to be scary round trip to the site if I wear A048s on my Lotus. How about A048 grip on the course in rainy condition? And I believe rain jacket is must for the people do work for the course.
