Because for the price, 550hp simply wasn't good enough. 750 justifies the cost better

Cool! I've never ridden in a Gulf! Can I log a little dual time with ya? I'll fly home with the cattle.

Holy crap! I think the only road car I'd pay $4k a day for starts with "Mc" and ends with "F1."

To their credit, it is probably the ONLY one available for rent in the entire industry, but still, it's like a $300k-350k car? I guess if you just really need to get some ass one night

It might sound like I'm making a joke here... but I stared at this awesome Golf Mk1 for longer than I did at the S7. I was a HUGE VW fan back in the day. I had a heavily modified Rabbit GTI with an intercooled Callaway Turbo system. It put out about 220hp to the front wheels and weighed about 1800lbs. It pulled harder than my Katana equiped Elise, but drove very similarly. Steering felt the same, handling was close and power to weight was incredible. All my friends at the time were building high powered Mustang GT's an I was smoking them with my little Rabbit. That was when I first learned the value of adding "lightness". The owner of this car is a true enthusiast as well. The front spoiler and "wind splits" (the black trim the runs up the A pillars, are German only parts and never made it stateside. Is there any other old school watercooled VW fans on here besides me?

Yep, had a MKI Scirocco, repainted it myself @ 17 Guard's red, had ATS 15" wheels, Koni hydraulics, Big valve 90hp engine, big sways, etc.

One customer (I was a kid computer consultant) asked me "is that a Lotus", in 1985
