In the modern world of sports cars and muscle cars, with a black car, the thing to do is go to a body shop and black out the grill, taillights, and headlights where possible; put dark window tint on the windows; paint the emblems and the wheels black; even put a flat black vinyl on the roof.

Here's an R8 with some of those things done to it by Julio at Mulholland Motorsports near Beverly Hills at 310-360-0948. He is the master at these sort of conversions, especially on Lotus. He worked on my Lotus too...
