Lotus Elise S2 Type 49 Special Edition

At the Lotus Festival camp site - a lovely Dutch registered Type 49 Elise S2. Based on the color scheme of the iconic Type 49 Formula One Car, which won its debut Grand Prix in the hands of Jim Clark. This was not the only reason for its fame; it was the car developed alongside the V8 Cosworth Ford DFV engine that dominated Formula One for a full decade. The original Type 49 brought Grand Prix successes for Jim Clark, Graham Hill, Jo Siffert and Jochen Rindt.

This picture is taken @ McCarran International Airport in Vegas, and i did not take this photo. The person who spotted this mentioned that there's also a black one in a separate cargo

One thing that surprised me is that they actually flew them in instead of sea freight.

Anyway, I think this is quite cool to share. Can't believe someone here in the U.S.is getting their brand new Exige S delivered! To be honest, i dont think the police will even notice it's a track only car, especially if you are driving this in Las Vegas where weird things are spotted everywhere lol. But anyway congratulation to whoever the owner of this car is it's truly the sickest <150K car out there (in my opinion)......

hope they make this car street legal some day in the future!"

Spied: BMW i8 Testing in the Snow

"Here are the latest photos of BMW's halo car, the i8 with slightly less camouflage. The futuristic plug-in hybrid will utilize a 170hp electric motor to drive the front wheels, while a turbocharged 1.5L will channel 223hp and 295lb-ft of torque to the back, which will make for zero to 60 time of just under five seconds. Range will reportedly be somewhere around 20 miles on full electric power, which can be replenished in around an hour with a high-voltage connection, or six hours from a standard outlet.

This prototype reveals some new details not seen before, and shows that development is well underway for its 2013 debut. For the first time we can see the BMW typical Hoffmeister kink at the rear side window, as well as the real side skirts which now match the i8 Concept car. Other changes are the new position of the door handles, the sportier side mirrors and more visible kidney grilles."
