Late night photoshoot in Downtown LA - LotusTalk

Decided to take some photos randomly one night in downtown LA

I had some backfocusing issues with my lens in some photos, maybe due to the level of low-light in these locations. Anyway, very impromptu and very fast. All shot handheld, no tripod. ISO was at 3200-6400 for many shots.

My favorites are towards the bottom

Wish I had used a tripod for some pictures, handheld is terribly difficult at night.

A little shallow, even for me, but some very cool shots nonetheless.

I agree. I had to shoot a little more wide open than I wanted to get a decent handheld shutter speed.

the last four are well composed and great angles, but you def need a tripod or a faster lens.

Shot with a 50mm f/1.2L which explains why many of them are so shallow. Yes I agree a tripod would have been helpful but like I said, this was very impromptu and I didn't bother to grab my tripod.
