i love the photos in posts 21 and 22 as well as the 2nd one in the bridge posting. among the best lotus photos i have ever seen in my opinion. i love the use of graphic elements in those pix.

#21,22 ,24 25 are all stellar shots! Best I've seen so far. You may want to shop these for profit. Wonderful work.

Skiddo,
Your pics are the best i have seen in ten years of lotus ownership. Do you have any tips on how to photograph a white Exige. They are difficult i know and never seem to look like the car does in reality. My last Lotus was in Titanium and that was far easier to get pics that look good. My Aspen White Exige S arrives soon and i would like to do the colour justice in pics. Thanks for any help. Ian |

thanks bruh la - never tried to shoot a white one, tbh. off the top of my head...
i'd underexpose to begin with to keep the hightlights, prolly shoot it on a cloudy day, or in the shade, again to lower the contrast and prolly choose somewhere where there isn't too much light being reflected back into it to try and keep some shape via shade? i like shooting in tight spaces for that reason - little or no light coming from the sides adds some drama i think.
the close-up wide angle profile shot earlier is in black and white because the the orange bricks on the side of the road i was shooting from were reflecting in the car giving the car a cast. so B&W was the easiest way out of it. |

Here's some I took a couple of days ago at the Philadelphia Art Museum (where Rocky ran the steps...). Unfortunately, I only got four shots, as I was there only a minute before the security guard chased me out. Too bad - great location and I had all kinds of creative shots planned...

Skiddo,
Thanks for the advice. So for my white car i need to find dark areas with a single strong light source. Preferably wet black tarmac, dark walls near to the car with the light source casting good shadows to pick out the shape and giving good highlights 3 or 4 mm of clear laquer would also help to make it shine like an ipod ![]() |

very nice indeed chris.
don't you hate all the ballards everywhere these days - ruins everything no matter how much of a feature they try to make of them. i wish we could run with rear plates only here in england. i hate my massive front plate almost as much as architectural ballardage! keep them coming!!!! bruh_la:
i wouldn't worry too much about wet tarmac - but in essence you shoot your white car in a wide open space with light coming from all around it's not gonna help to define the subtle curves ![]() i have spent lots of time trying to get my digital images to look like pictures used to on film - contrast plays a big part in that - highlights are the key. once they have gone they won't come back, so if they are there to begin with you have the choice of whether they are important to the picture or not. really looking forward to see your efforts. have been thinking about dropping evosal who lives in my town an email to see if i can shoot his recently restored white S1 typeR... see if can put my money where my mouth is! ![]() |
