I love the industrial and cemetery shots. People down here in the Southern USA do not understand. They seem to think it's disrespectful or something.

I don't have as good a camera, but I have some very interesting compositions dating back to my 1987 Lotus Esprit Turbo. Looking forward to taking more shots of my new "Lease".

Rich

PS: You have some great dilapidated buildings in jolly old England. Parking in places that look like that over here would likely get you killed in an Elise.

lol most of the locations in manchester might get you in trouble at the wrong time of the day - early sunday morning is a quiet time - even bad-asses need some sleep.

an interesting bit of trivia - most of this last sunday's pics were taken just around the corner from where joy division's love will tear us apart was shot.

my orginal starting point on sunday had been a skit on a famous smiths image , but kerbs and bollards to stop joy riders on ordsal estate scuppered me.

nearest i clould get was this poor effort...

would love to see your esprit pics if you can find them and looking forward to seeing your liz pics - come on what you waitinbg for chop. chop!

Skiddo,

I started a cemetery thread, so as not to intrude on yours:

Check it out.

Here is my Elan with abondoned building (I can't explain the coke machine) here down south:

(It's similar to the industrial theme.)

Esprit V8 with ruins of a New England prison:

I am particularly fond of the first Esprit shot, as the rims appear to be riding upon the road surface.

Bloody 'ell Skiddo, your B/W shots are awesome!
#88 is great, but some of the others aren't too bad either

I was just cursing you for lack of new pictures.

Thanks for the fix.

I have an Apple Script that imports your photo's directly into my iPhoto catalog.

bummer about the 24-70. I really need to get some 2.8 lenses. The large aperature really lets you play with lighting effect so much more than the small aperatures.

Great looking shots man

the wide aperture just means a shallow depth of field - the light is the same regardless, don't let aperture hold you back.

what is does do is allow you to hand hold in more difficult conditions... but there is always tripods.

just get out and shoot!

oh I know, I've played with photography for years, had a b&w darkroom setup in my bathroom as well for a couple years. By play with the light I meant that you can shoot in lower light situation much more easily. I do also like the shallow depth of field.....I don't like to carry around tripods
