How do you know that? (Edit: Aimed at the troll, of course, not qball.
)I will admit, I haven't driven either car, but a "pure" car that weighs nothing, handles really really well, and doesn't have the "boy racer" styling (face it, the Lotus, while it's got flashy styling, isn't a tarted up econobox sedan) seems more appealing. And, note that Serebo1 said that people HERE are selling their Evos. Not just people elsewhere. As in, they'd rather have an Elise or Exige instead of an Evo.

It's still, at it's heart, a Lancer. It looks like a riced out Lancer.
Just because it's factory doesn't mean it isn't rice.

You're right, it's not the boy racer look, it's trying to look like a Subaru!

The Evo is a good car. So is the STi. Neither one is anything like an Elise. They are hopped up sedans, no matter how you slice it. A Lancer and a WRX at heart. Sorry, them's the facts. At least they got hopped up good!

On a year-old car that is semi-rare and not terribly easy to replace (unless you are willing to travel), one could (and should) argue that they better come up with a resonable offer to settle. If I were in qball's place, I would only settle for a check that would cover what it would cost to buy a comperable and acceptable replacement within a convenient driving distance from my home. Period. I know I'm would not be willing to travel the country looking for a car in decent shape unless they are willing to pay for my time, travel, and transportation expenses. In the end, it is in Goodyear's best interest to make this right. They need to take car of their customer. In doing this, they will also minimize the damage to their tarnished reputation.

Speaking for probably everyone on this board, if I'd have wanted an Evo, I'd have bought an Evo.

Followed this thread from Jeep forum. Lotus is a good car, Evo is a good car. Because of perceived exclusivity, some jabs were taken at Evos.
Rice imitates race. Evo is race through and through. No mattter what it is based on. Everything is specifically different from Lancer to Lancer Evolution. The interior is a waste, but I paid for the performance and got it. Added a big rear sway, derlin rear bushings and in NASA HPDE G3 I've walked a fair share of Lotus' at short tracks like Summit Point Main and VIR North Course. Opinions are funny things, the Elise and Exige both look "riced" out as well. "Rice" defined by low splitters, wide openings, wings, etc... fiberglass!!! qball, your manager is nuts for putting an Evo in a kids hands. It handles, accelerates and brakes far beyond the potential abilities of a kid unless he grew up racing go-karts. From another enthusiast, it sucks to see what happened to this car. Try not to compensate for the little car with a big Ego about the Big pocketbook you have. Thomas '06 Evo RS |

Welcome to the board. Look, most everyone on this board appreciates the Evo for being a fantastic car. If there were any jabs thrown, it was in reaction to the obviously inflammatory comments by a fellow Evo owner. I think that's what Q was reacting to. This has nothing to do with ego and Pocketbook. Quite to the contrary, I'd imagine evo8power's car with its extensive mod list probably exceeds the cost of Q's Elise. Comparing the two cars is comparing apples and oranges. While both cars are enjoyable, they're created from entirely different philosophies.

First STi and Evo were around the same year, 1991/92. Niether Subaru or Mitsubishi had anything to do with WRC prior It's just branding and homolgation. Niether wants to look like the other, they both want to win.Introduced to the US Evo 2003 STi 2004 |
