Looking at my post on page 3, post 55...I use points B (way up front) and C (3/4 back by the vents) WITHOUT taking off the panel. I looked while the panel was off and noted that if the jack is centerered properly around that bolt, that is the center of the jacking point. There was no way i could go with B and D as D is too far back. Also, looking at the pics of the fallen car, they were not close. Looks like B and C should be fine, yes?

When I was at Auto Europe...the Lotus dealer in MI....they had a car on a 4 post lift...no problem. You just have to know what you are doing.

Tim to clarify, does the undertray (the middle) or the engine (the rear) cover have to come off?
I added this thread to this sticky under the original jacking warning section. Where it said "wrong lift points = bad", "bad" now links to this thread.

One thing I can't tell in the pictures ...
PLEASE tell me they put the front wheel/tire back on BEFORE they lowered the car down...

Replacement

Ok, here is a bit of good news. Goodyear has "agreed replacement insurance".. which basically means you agree to a value for the replacement of the vehicle. I have the same coverage from my insurance company (Chubb) they have agreed that my car is worth 55K so if its dropped off a lift or hit by a car ... that is the check that I get ... drag off the old car. Bring in the new one.

Now for your side. Call Goodyear and deny repair. In short, you broke it buddy you bought it. I do not think that neglect in that area can not be consider lack of fault and thier Lawyer will tell them "pay off as its cheaper" then they will file it as a "accidental" loss. The one thing that you want to do is get the right to salvage your add-on parts.

Drop me a PM if you need help in getting this done. I have had to do this once before with a Ferrari that we had. Its not a big deal. In short, go buy a new car. Go do your event. If not then you can claim that also as a "loss". Thats why we buy "exotics" to enjoy them .. treat them as toys not drivers.

hope this helps
Steve

dual oil coolers
anodized sport wheels (vs. painted)
Saffron yellow paint

Oh, God, Q! I'm so sorry to see that. (Looks as if they had the car balanced until the RF tire was removed...)

I agree with many of the others here -- total the car, especially if there is any indication of a tweak to the chassis. Hell, if repairs run to 2/3 the cost of a new one, they'll want to total it anyway.

Best of luck all the way on this.
