"The car held up well considering it flew 82' before hitting the ground..."

Maybe she took the tagline of the license plate a bit too seriously?

Glad to hear she is okay!!!

The car's insured and can be replaced, but you and your daughter are happier with her around.

Cheers,
Kiyoshi

Your wife is OK! That is the best news!! If this enables you to get her to any form of advanced driver training that would be a major benefit because if she rolls the H3 (which would be much easier than rolling an Exige!!) that is unlikely to go so well.

All the best with whatever new car you get!! Keep us updated

Wow, this could have ended up much different! An amazing story, I am impressed when she wore the Harness when the 3 point was available! Most people wouldn't bother on the street for such a quick trip! Glad she is ok.

Wow, I am really glad that your wife is okay and no one else got hurt.

But...

A few of you are saying, the wife is not allowed to drive the Lotus. If sounds (although I obvisously have no clue) that that may have been the situation here. It was not hers and maybe she was not allowed to drive it. She then decides to show off and drive it to a friends house when the hubby isn't home. Maybe if she was allowed to drive it (if she was interested) she would have known how to drive it. I'm just posting this for all the other dudes.

I just wish my wife was interested in it enough to drive it

Glad she's okay. Now more importantly, what car high end toy would you be buying next? I'm sure with all her 110% approval.

wow, thats a serious crash. Glad your wife is ok . Cars can be replaced, lives cannot.

I think you should look into buying another exige, evora or even a rossion.

My wife wrecked my Lotus once. Once. (Johnny Dangerously)

But seriously folks, allow me to be the first to say: that will buff right out.

Wow! Thanks for all the positive response. I can't believe she was wearing the harness either. She did not have it on on the way over to her friends house but for some reason she put it on for the drive home. Might have given her a little false sense of security to get on the gas a little to hard. I know the car couldnt have been up to temperature and therefore could not have revved above 6K rpm or so, (thank god). Oh, by the way, she crashed in front of our preacher's house that married us. The car clipped a telephone pole 7ft above the ground. 2 ft to the right she would have hit it directly, 2 ft to the left, she would have hit a brick house. The car landed where I am standing in the pic.

Well they say a picture is worth a thousand words, She pulled a sideways "Evel Knievel" and the driveway caused the "Barrel Roll" which explained the packed clay in the wheels - Wow, she could have so easily been tossed out of any vehicle - Someone was watching over your young lady!

I am very happy that she is OK! I cannot imagine what anyones thought process would be after experiencing that, I would not fault her for her reaction. It must have been one of the scariest moments of her life.
