Have you seen THIS thread / this car? It's not KG, but it sure looks at least comparable / Scha-weeet!

Shop around, find your car - then make it work! Then, we'll hopefully see you next season for some of the local drives!!

That settlement amount sounds pretty reasonable, and better than I expected based on current resale amount. You might be able to push for a little more but all told, that's not bad.

the 15K buyback is RIDICULOUS though. 10-15 percent MAX is what i'd give 'em. Somewhere in the 4-5k range, if you even want to bother with that headache of salvage. It's possible semi-exotics are different than normal cars, but that's a 45 percent buyback. Every insurance buyback i've seen/done has been under 10 percent, and i've heard 15 percent bandied about before as a maximum. I am not an insurance adjuster though.

Then, on top of that - they will force you into a "salvage title" situation with it. Totally NOT a viable option for you to do. IF you can convince them to repair without doing the title-swap routine, and IF you feel those repairs would absolutely 100% repair/return you to whole, that is the ONLY way at this point, I would be looking to keep this car. Otherwise, accept the "total" buy-out deal, and find yourself a new/fresh one!

As others have said - ask for a higher payout with supporting evidence (their first offer is never the final one!).

As for the buy back price my first question is "do you want it?" If you do want to buy it back why? There are two options with that wreck - replace the chassis (the part is ~$9k, the work required is disassembling and then rebuilding the complete car) and repair and repaint the damaged panels, or part it out. Are you actually interested in either (time consuming) option?
