I don't mean to be insensitive, but is there any more info on the incident itself?

Was the Escalade driver charged with anything?

Away from the forum for awhile until today. Shockingly sad news. RIP brother.

Like others, I just came back to the Forum after a week's vacation and found this.

We first met Jeff at Peck555's, then later on several LEO occasions (despite him being on the L.I. side of NYC). A true gentleman and Lotus enthusiast.

My fond remembrance is of last October's drive (referenced earlier). He had parked his car on the shoulder of the road and, being low on gas, it wouldn't restart because of the tilt of the road.

We helped him push the Lotus to a more even keel, where it ran happily to a gas station a mile or so away.

We'll miss him, for sure. RIP.

As a newbie here, I never met jeff, but I think he responded to a couple of my posts. Seems like I really missed out on not knowing him.

I send my prayers and condolences to his family and friends.

RIP Jeff.

As a side note, and not to be insensitive, is there any place I can find out more information about how the other 3 members on LT passed? I am a relatively new owner and like the information regarding the headlights will resonate with me from now on, I would like to know as much information to be as safe as possible when driving this tiny little car. You can PM me the details to not take away from the respects being paid to Jeff.

Just read about this tragic incident in the LEO newsletter; I met Jeff and remember his passion and zest for life, and of course his Lotus. Condolences to his family.

Requiescare in pace, Jeff!

PS. I share the previous posters' curiosity about the results of any investigation.

Wow. Just got in from a Lotus road trip yesterday morning from spending time with some family and have not been on the board much. Just got on and saw this. Read all 9 pages. Just terrible to see. One would be too many, but we have lost a few on here now. I know I had recently conversed with him through e-mail about an order.

Just terrible to hear.

Damn Escalades.

Rest in Peace Jeff.

Always such a tragedy when stuff like this happends. Unfortunantly I am sure every one of use (even those of us who do not own a lotus ---> me) have done some pretty stupid things in a car when we look back on it. Unfortunantly sometimes we do not get so lucky & this is what happends.

My thoughts-prayers are with the friends & family......

Be safe everyone

I disagree with that assessment. I don't think speed kills. Always be aware of your surroundings. I always leave an exit and stay away from other people's blind spots. I've had a minivan that almost turned on to me. I was aware of that minivan my entire time and was unsure of his intentions. Before I sped up to pass him, I made sure there was an spot clear on my left side. Right when I sped up to pass, he decided turn left into my lane, but I was prepared to quickly switch lanes. I don't think he had a clue that I was there even after I switched lanes immediately..

Even going below speed limit will kill if you do not limit the risks and be aware.

Also, I treat every driver on the road as if they were a teenager behind the wheel. You never know what idiots are out there.

This may be my first post, but this thread has struck me so hard that I felt compelled to join. I am a huge Lotus fan, and plan on getting and Exige. I have lost 3 friends in car crashes in less than 2 years. I know how it feels to lose someone you care about. I start to choke up when I read this thread, and I'm truly humbled to see the forum members truly care about each other.
