Schroth silver harness, finally.

After about a year's research and effort, I have assembled some sort of 6 point harness system for my Elise. Quite different coloration, a system others pioneered.
Sector 111 4Tress bar, Schroth ASM, 4" shoulders, pull up lap belts that bolt to seat, Cam lock, Titanium Dave sub bar, Exige seats from Trim Shop with custom sub holes cut locally. Sys pack seat reinforcement.
Probably won't work well with HANS, and bar is a bit too high for best angle. Also, seats are not fully legal as they are modified.
Well, I tried, and it does help driving, and is debatably safer than 3 point.

Looks great! I have pretty much the same set-up in my Elise except I used the Sector 111 hardware and sys.6.pack for the sub strap. Putting holes through the floor was as bit unnerving. Definitely holds you in place. Does your passenger belt get wedged between the seat and not slide easily? I find the Exige seats to do that. Any remedy?

Why ASM shoulder belts if you have sub belts?

I'm on a similar program... I had my stock Exige seats slotted for sub straps, and installed the seats and sub straps with the Sector111 sys.6.pack. They felt great at the auto-x last weekend, but for track use I think I'm going to replace the ASM shoulder straps with the Schroth Profi II-6 HANS shoulder belts to go with the HANS Model 20 Professional that I've got.

You are correct, I did not order ASM, but, gee, there are so many combinations of features, I was pleased to get bolt on lap belts with the sewn in eyelets like Sector sells. The ASM was a surprise. Not HANS compatible, it says so right on there. I would think that I can get just the two shoulder straps to convert though, if/when the HANS is added.
A possible consideration though, and Shinoo mentioned this also, is that ASM might allow some rotation that could help with being a bit tall and the roll bar being not as high as one would want. Forgive me if I misquote Shinoo, but it seems he said the HANS could still work there anyway.

I don't move my seat.
It is the camlock or belt that interferes with the seat?
There is a lot of extra strap on the lapbelts. Could maybe be folded up and secured with a cable tie? Cut off and heat sealed? Any other ideas out there?
I secure the passenger camlock to the other lapbelt to keep it there, unless someone is using it.

I don't have the sub strap, but I have the 4 point (let's not start in on that! ) and they have made a huge difference in my driving. Last year I was bracing myself around the corners with my knees and ended up bruised after every track day - come to think of it, let's not go anywhere with that either. The harnesses allow you to concentrate on driving and take the corners a lot faster and with more confidence. I'm sure you'll find that Brthtaker. I love the silver - I got it too. It's nicely blingy and fit well in my bordeaux/biscuit combo.

I've only used them the once, but got 350 miles into a weekend. Feel much more connected to the car. And not having to brace my knees into the console and sill is so much easier. OK, I guess the work blingy does fit. I just figured it would work with all the exposed aluminium. So many people have black seats and harness, I just (very obviously) want more eye appeal. Now if I can just get the courage to pick colours for the living room....

Ha! After two days of auto-x, even with the 6-pt harness, I have bruises on my knees from the center console and the sill. Still, the harness is orders of magnitude better than the stock 3pt lap belt...

Yeah, you are right. The harness helps a lot, but bracing my legs was still needed. I did have a lot less brusing. I guess weight was not transferred as abruptly and as frequently, so the pressures were less forceful.

The key to protecting your legs is the right race seat....I have the Reverie XC seat and my legs don't touch the console or sills ever:

yup....The harnesses keep you in the seat but you can still move a bit side to side. I cant touch the side sill or the center console with my knee if I wanted to anymore with the Bride Zodia seat. Really cant move much at all...

I have not tried these great looking seats, but have at least sat in the Lotus Sport Recaro. Pretty tight for my 53 year old, 200 pound, 36"+ lower diameter. Kind of a choice, sore knees or sore hips. Or even worse, lose 10+ pounds Hopefully I will have the opportunity to try other seats, but for now I'm pleased to have moved this far towards the level you folks enjoy. Plus, I'm pretty well prepared for Halloween with these colors.
Seriously, there are so many decisions to make in this endeavor. My GF wanted me to go with a race seat, easily changed out for my once a month track weekend, leaving the Trim Shop seats unaltered. Perhaps if I had it to do over I'd have done as you have. Reggiem modified his stock Elise seats for subs, then bought Reveries.
Love that wheel!

Is the Bride Zodia comfortable?
Would you use it as a DD seat?
Is it difficult to remove yourself?

depends how big you are. I am technically too big for the seat and it hurt my hips on long drives but on the track I dont notice it. I am about 5'10" and 155 pounds although that really doesn't matter. If you have narrow hips you will probably fit, if not then you wont. IF you fit then yes its a comfortable seat. DD use is a personal preference, you do have to slide yourself down into the seat so its not a super quick entry and exit but if you are ok with that then sure, use it for DD. I wouldn't mind it at all other than it hurting my hips by the end of the day when I run errands in it.

Thanks, I have a smaller waist so it shouldn't be a problem.
Does it slide along the rails like the oem seat? (backwards/forwards)
I would imagine it is more comfortable than either of the Reverie seats.

yes it slides, nice easy bolt in with its own adjustable sliding rails. Thats the reason I bought it. Have different drivers in the car often, thankfully all are small. I still highly recommend finding someone with it to try out first.

Very nice, we got Schroth with the pushbutton, I wish our seats had holes in the bottom for the 5th point hehe.
