Another disappearing thread?

Now I can't get to the thread about the seats with TVs in them - WTF?

I closed the thread. The original poster wanted it removed.

why? was it a joke? he couldn't take the abuse? I thought it was all in fun, and the poster didn't seem to mind. He should have known he was opening himself up for some criticism.

oh well...

It's locked....that's all....none of us can get to it any more.

808, if you're still reading this...don't leave. You started a thread about a very unconventional mod for a Lotus.....in a forum full of traditionalists. Did a few go too far? Probably. But if you ask opinions here, you're going to get VERY honest answers. I'm pretty thin-skinned, so I seldom ask anyone's opinion. But there are thousands of members here...don't be chased away by a few.

I know I've totally missed something and this was probably explained in the original thread, but...
What would the purpose of TV's in (I assume) the headrests of the Elise be? I realize the rear window is literally right there but I'm not sure I've seen a 2 seater/mid engined car with TV's like that. Then again, that may be the whole point.

His hardtop headliner mod thread is gone too. I thought the TV thing was silly, but it seems that 808 did have some things to offer us. I have to admit, I was curious to see how the thing turned out.

It's really too bad that some people crossed, no... pole vaulted the line.

I was going to say he could offer his TV screens to advertisers and make some money on his mod. I never got a chance.

Yeah, he is a little upset. But neither side here can claim the moral high ground. It starts with one small insult and escalates.

ChaseCam headrest TVs!

I could use a good source of larger (maybe not that large) NTSC/PAL input LCD screens that operate off of 12VDC.

I do also think he should take a step back, take a deep breath. One major/common problem with forum communication is to take a perspective from one or two people, and apply it to some hidden majority. The reality is, one person said something personal. Another chimed in about getting personal. That is all.

I actually thought that the headrest monitors would be an interesting way to advertise my business to the traffic behind me... www.plasmawindow.com (Shameless plug)

Maybe once he gets them installed, we can see the pics and have a more civilized thread.
