It's terrible. Makes reading the forum almost unbearable.

I'll try the blocker and Firefox.

...those bloody rolldown banners are proliferating quickly - they're nearly enough to drive me away...

I didn't have the block list enabled. Free of banners at last.

Thanks everybody!

Just some thoughts, but I think that the fact the ads are so bad that people are upset about it could prevent some people from joining. If I were casually looking at a few different sports cars and joined a few forums to check out the cars, I would find one with so many ads annoying, and I wouldn't want to be forced to go download some program to get rid of them. Seems like less obnoxious ads would be a better balance, but that's just me.

Another solution, IE 64bit, it hardly works with anything so it doesn't show the ads. lol.

Keep in mind that when these ads show up and block content, they are flagged to me and then I have them either moved or removed from our rotation. In this case, we have moved the ad so it only appears at the bottom of the screen.

For all the ad-block users, don't forget you are blocking the sponsor ads while blocking the google content. You can now easily miss out on promotions or deals that vendors may be running.

Thanks for your patience with this and the next time you see anything blocking the site, flag it to a moderator so we can have it removed. Thanks!

I only added it when I couldn't get this site and yahoo to run without it.

It's comparable to how when they went to 25% and higher % commercial content on tv, I quit watching live.
I was okay with ten minutes an hour.
Must be a lesson there somewhere.
