Last page link not working

Is it just me or what ? Every computer I go to if I press the link to the last page of a thread with many pages (ie chicago get-togethers, whats the funniest thing someone said, etc.) I just get a screen that says "oops, this link is broken". Instead, I have to go to the last numbered page, then when thread pops up go to the last one again, etc., typically 3 pages at a time, until I get the very last page.

This makes it very difficult to follow critical long threads like "I got t.v. screens installed in my headrests" etc.

Is there a repair or cookie setting or whatever? Does everyone have this problem?

Maybe try dl'ding FireFox or Google Chrome and see the pages load properly.. There could be an issue with IE 8.0... I had a few issues with it not wanting to load stuff when it first came out. Also go to window update as there were a few patches for it a week or two ago.

So I just spent the last 45 min downloading internet explorer 8 onto 3 comps. It didnt solve anything, likely just gave microsoft some new ways to force me to use Bing.

Fortunately, Roaddad posted the 404 page link above. Yes, that is exactly the problem, but no solution on that thread either. At least now I know the last page link only doesnt work from the active topics page, and it does work from other pages.

First..I am in the computer business...

But I dont have the problem and I use IE8 and Vista. I have 10 or so computers that I login this site with...no problems there as well. I will try and come up with an idea of what your issue is.

This is a problem only when coming from the "Active Topics" page.

Yep, only from the "Active Topics" page.

I seriously doubt this is a chair to keyboard interface problem.

Hey, while you're at it, maybe "Upgrade" your ride to an AMC Gremlin!

Just kiddin man, I've just never heard anyone say that about OS X. I wouldn't go back to Windows if you paid me.

Seems the error message pretty much sums it up. /showthread.php seems to be either missing, or has incorrect permissions set to it. the "Last Page" link from the "Active Topics" page is the only place (just a quick glance around) that I see that file referenced.

Oh, I see it from the other thread, the /forums part is missing. Guess it's been covered before.
