The Library, what is it and why
The Library is a portion of the EliseTalk forum that attempts to consolidate all the great content scattered throughout. It attempts to be a "real" Library, where you can find answers to many of your questions.
The content in the Library is created by the community. For example, an informative thread on doing an alignment or bleeding the clutch appears and the community contributes to the thread. This thread is then copied to the Library. It is important to note that the original thread, with all(!) the posts, is left intact and in place. The copy that appears in the Library is then edited for content so it is concise and on topic. Clarification questions, off topic posts, highjacks and other posts not specifically about the topic are removed. The original posts are attributed to the people that made the posts. Any pictures included in the thread will be hosted in the EliseTalk Gallery. This insures that the content will be understandable and will not suffer because the pictures were later deleted. Since the threads are edited and the pictures hosted in the Gallery, it is understandable that some people do not want their content used. As editor for the Library, I respect these wishes and delete their content from the Library thread. Like all volunteers here, I do this as the rest of my life allows. Please be patient when making suggestions or nominations. The Library will slowly grow as the community contributes to the content. It will be so full of information that people will make it the first stop when wondering how to modify or repair their Elise. I welcome nominations for threads to be moved to the Library. Concise and knowedgable content is always welcome. Nominations are now open. Just add them to this thread... Michael |

This is awesome! May I also suggest the ability for people to contribute "articles" to the Library? Something like SitePoint's format. (www.sitepoint.com).

Fantastic idea! No doubt it will be of great benefit to current owners and prospective owners alike.

taking a break, but will get to it...
Thanks for the suggestions on contributions to the Library. All are excellent.
I have not been working as hard on doing the coin op game restorations (my day job) and have tried to work down some of the six month backlog. As a result, the Library is suffering from neglect more than usual. I promise to get back to the contribuitons and add a few articles every weekend. Michael |
