And if the post is by me, often people won't need to respond because it's either just comic relief or stupid.

Like take Whitey#1 for example. He has made too many Threads to count. Therefore a lot of people often either flame him or ignore him. Try searching before a question or a post. My sensei Aedo told me 'If it doesn't either A) Ask a question or B) Answer a question, it doesn't need a response'
