Problem with going to the correct post in a thread

While we are on the subject of forum problems.

Ever since our new overlords took over I have been having an issue.

When I click on the green check mark to the left of the thread to take me to the first new post, it works the first time I do it that day but when there have been more posts and I click it again it takes me to the same first post not the new post.

I am using Safari

I don't have this problem with other forums.

I just noticed that my last visit time is not being updated correctly and that has to be the issue.

Right now it is showing that my last visit was last night

ahh i see the problem, you're using a mac, mac owners never have problems, pc owners always do, you're on osx, doesn't work, i'm on vista, does work, so applying apple marketing principles, you don't exist ! problem solved huzzah time for a chai and a black turtleneck sweater !

additionally having sunday as the first day of the week has obviously upset jesus and he's put a hex on you, check your computer for any infestations of frogs or locusts, or head down to your local cult place of worship and donate them some cash, and i don't mean the apple store.

in all seriousness though, could be a cookie problem, maybe safari is doing some filtering ? i'll fire up my macbook and see if it does the same thing.

"View first unread" not working

This seems to be hit or miss for me, sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. There isn't any real rhyme or reason and it seems to be just random. I use Firefox and this has been the case for some time. I don't really worry about it anymore.

Often, I'll just click "last page" and that gets me close enough.

It a trade off in the timing. If the system "refreshes" your time too often, you might miss some posts, too seldom, and it keeps taking you back to the ones you've already seen. It depends on when/how often you log in, and if/how long you keep your cookies from your browser.

Instead of clicking the last page, I click the little left arrow next to the last person that posted - that takes me to the last post in the thread which is usually where I want to go anyway.

Using Firefox on a PC, I have the same problem as Patricko. It used to work fine for me a while ago.

Why did it start right after you sold out

As soon as the new overlords took over it stopped working.

I will give that a try

Safari is a half-arsed browser to begin with. Try a full browser and see if it changes.

I'm amazed when I even go to the right page.
I don't have this issue with any other forums.

Why can't this be fixed?

I'm using firefox.
