Slow email notification - LotusTalk

Does anyone who gets email notification notice that it's slow to arrive? I'm getting some email 1-2 days after I've already read the post. It always used to arrive within minutes....and sometimes it still does.

Or is it just my system......?

It probably is not your system, unless you notice that all of your email seems to be delayed.

It may be that the local sysadmin has decided to throttle email to only have it deliver at certain times of the day or week or something.

Check that the subscription is instant rather than daily or weekly.

Like now for example.....I received an email notification of the post by Mr. Know.....but not the other three posts....but I will eventually....later today or even tomorrow.

Suspicion is that that the software is trying to do you a favor, by not spamming you to death. Maybe it checks once an hour for new posts and that is considered "instant".

same problem - I get some that are days behind...I just delete them all at this point...

It sends "batches"...meaning it will send you a notice, and will no longer do so until you log into the forum.

True.....but it's still messed up. You sent me a PM earlier. I'll let you know when I get email notification of that one. Still nothing yet.

The reply links I get still rarely take me to the right place, often not even the right page.

Slow slow slow everything.

Adblock made the site usable again.
Nothing like it was though.
I lose patience and go somewhere else.

I get some, I don't get some. It seems pretty random. Don't get nearly all of them or nearly as many as I used to. If a thread is replied to I don't necessarily get the notice, late or not. I just generally scan through the new posts anyway.
