Some new forums... and moved threads
Just a couple notes.
I moved some threads around. Major change was to delete the Elise Experience Forum and the separate Elise Information forums and combine them into one general forum at the top. All the threads from both are now in the one. I created a few new forums. One is The Library. And note that you can't post or reply here. There will be a few people who will be working with me on creating concise and specific threads that will exist as a place for data on mods and frequently asked questions. Frankly, this may morph as we work on it. Not sure. We also merged the MSRP forum into a forum for discussing MSRP as well as a place for all the information one would need about researching and specifying a new car. Color charts. Options. Etc. Another is the Roadtrip forum.. to document long trips that nutty people have taken in their Elises. I also want to catalog some cool roads. I will be adding to this soon. And re-arranged the order of a few forums. I welcome comments and suggestions. May not do them... but I like feedback and ideas!

Another note is that I moved probably something like 200+ threads today. Mainly from the general forums into more specific forums. I would like to take this opportunity to present my thoughts on this, because sometimes I think people take it personal when a thread is moved.
A forum like this has two sides to it. On one hand, there is this active discussion taking place. Newer threads are up at the top, or what you see when you click on the NEW THREADS links. The other side, one more valuable, is the cataloging of data. This is what provides the main resource of the forum for most of the users, including all those not even registered. And the ability to see and get the information comes down to people using SEARCH, and to reviewing the proper forums. The general forum at the top quickly gets full of all kinds of threads about various subjects. Some useful. Some less so to most people. Some are highly topical and won't matter much in a few days. Some defy placement in another forum (Insurance for example, another is "I wrecked my Elise.") I don't personally get too worried when someone posts an engine question in the General Forum. I know some forums are quick to move the thread and probably tell the poster that they messed up. I really don't care that much, but in the larger view, having the thread in the General forum means that it is less helpful for future researchers. So I will move it. And I tend to move these without "redirects" because I think all the redirects look messy. Sometimes, if it makes sense to me, I will leave a redirect, but I will also eventually get rid of it.So don't take it personal if a thread is moved. It also means I think it has value for the future to be in the right place. And if you can't find your "Hey, I saw a yellow Elise on 3rd avenue in Bumphole, Tennessee. Are you on the forum?" thread... I moved it to regional or merged it into the sightings thread. Do a search and you will find it. And feel free also to post it in the right place to start. Because it takes a lot of time to move 200+ threads. Thanks!
