Why does one have to roll through the Log Out sequence TWICE to disconnect?

Feel like I'm working at NORAD for God's sakes.

I've never logged out. Just close the browser tab.

Oh, and to answer your question, I had the same concern before, but...
Once is to clear the cookies, it just says you're logged in on that page, but you're not.
Try this, log out, then click the home page, without clicking log out again.
